You probably know the Prague Half Marathon, this legendary 21.097 km which is part of the SuperHalfs 🏆. But do you know the Prague 10 km (or the Birell 10K Night Race Prague by its true name)? 🤓 Like its older brother the half, the 10 km takes place in the capital of the Czech Republic: Prague! In the city center, at nightfall 🌙, you will embark on the 28th edition of a record-breaking race. Indeed, it's not the little brother of a SuperHalf for no reason! 😝 The course of the Prague 10 km will see 8,500 international runners sprinting to give their best 💪. Moreover, the race is in September, allowing you to train and familiarize yourself with the streets of the city of a hundred spires to participate in the half marathon in March 😜.
Ladislav Boril started Esse Athletes in December 2024 with a simple conviction: Prague's running scene was missing a crew built entirely around performance. Not the kind of running that looks good on Instagram, but the kind that tests you on Wednesday nights at 7 PM under the floodlights, when your legs burn and your splits tell the real story. Speed Club sessions and Sunday long runs attract 15 runners who share that hunger. They're competitive by nature, but the competitiveness itself is what bonds them. Every session has structure, every route has purpose, and every athlete leaves chasing their next personal record. In a city where running groups often prioritize the cappuccino afterward, Esse Athletes prioritizes the run itself.
In February 2023, one person's invitation became 200 runners gathering every week at The Miners Coffee Bakery. Prague Running Crew emerged from a simple desire: turn solitary weekend runs into shared journeys through Czechia's capital. Founders built the crew on companionship and inclusivity, offering multiple pace groups so every runner finds their rhythm. Weekly runs weave through Prague's historic streets, parks, and riverbanks, blending training with exploration. The crew has quickly become a steady fixture in the city's running scene, drawing runners of all levels who come for the miles but stay for the friendships forged along the way.
