2026 marks our 5th year of hosting races, and it's time to celebrate with you, our amazing running community!
Join us at BackRoads Brews + Shoes on March 15th for our 5th Anniversary Run/Party.
Join us for a run, and spend some time together after in the BackRoads' taproom.
This is not a race, but rather, a chance for us to come together as a running community to celebrate 5 years of running. We're going to have road (approx. 5k) and trail options (approx. 8k.), and you'll receive some Persistence Racing swag, a bib, and medal. In keeping with what we do for all of our events, we'll donate a portion of the proceeds to the Children's Health Foundation in support of children and their families in our community.
Here's how it works:
-
Register here on Race Roster.
-
Choose to run road or trail. We'll have run leaders for both options. You'll be prompted to select road or trail when you register to give us a rough idea of numbers, but you can switch on the day of if you'd like.
-
Pick up your bib at BackRoads on the morning of March 15th beginning at 8:40 a.m. The bib will be a leftover bib from one of our previous races.
-
The runs will start at 9:30 a.m.
-
At the conclusion of your run, you've get a leftover medal from one of our races.
-
After you collect your medal, visit us in the taproom to get a piece of Persistence Racing swag. You'll tell us your size, and we'll blindly choose something out of a bin which fits, or you can take your chances on the miscellaneous bin of one size fits most. These are all leftover items from our races, e.g. shirts, hats, hoodies, jackets, gloves, glasses etc.
We'll mark your bib to indicate you've received your swag item.
- Relax, hang out, enjoy your favourite beverage, and spend some time together.
Simple!
Your registration guarantees you a spot, and entitles you to a leftover bib, medal, and swag item. There will be no timing for the runs.
Due to capacity limits in store, we've got 50 spots.
See you on March 15th!

50 km’s, 8 sections, 4 runners, 1 team, 1 vehicle.
Join us for the 5th Annual Barley's Broken Rail Relay, where we’ll run from North London to the epic finish line at Broken Rail Brewery in St. Mary’s - Ragnar style!
Grab a team of four friends and get ready for an exciting relay race that combines trails, roads, and plenty of camaraderie. As one teammate runs their leg, the others drive to the next transition point - hydrating, snacking, cranking the tunes, and cheering on your fellow runners.
At least one runner from each team will be on the course running their section, with a maximum of 2 runners per team per section.
Ideally each runner will run two sections with the sections varying between road and trail throughout the run. Sections vary in length from 4.5-9km. New this year, we have Precision Fuel & Hydration providing all runners with nutrition on the course to keep you feeling strong all day long!
At the finish, celebrate your accomplishment with a cold beer, delicious food, and great company at the brewery.
To celebrate our 5th edition of this event, each participant will receive a limited edition BBRR T-Shirt from New Balance!
All profits from the event go to Ronald McDonald House Charities, helping families with seriously ill children stay together during tough times. It’s an unforgettable day of running, community, and giving back that you won’t want to miss!
Are you feeling philanthropic? Between now and race day, each team is encouraged (not mandatory) to raise even more money for Ronald McDonald House, with the top fundraising team being outfitted in their next running kit - furnished by our amazing New Balance family!
Spots are limited to 30 teams!
Please designate your team captain to register via the "Team Captain Registration" link. The captain will be required to create the team name. The other 3 individuals will use the "Non-Captain Registration" link and select their team name from the drop-down menu.
With this being a unique event concept, Scott Goodyear will be in touch with all team captains well in advance of the event, to go over the route, finer details, and answer any questions related to the day.

Tails on Trails, Presented By Subaru of London, is Humane Society London & Middlesex's largest annual fundraising event. Formally known as Walk for the Animals, HSLM encourages individuals to run for at-risk animals in the London & Middlesex community. When you run for HSLM, you are helping provide life-saving medical care, shelter, and second chances to animals who need our help the most. Together, we can make a brighter future for animals, one paw at a time.
About HSLM
HSLM is a trusted leader in animal welfare. We are committed to advocating and supporting animals through provision of compassionate care, education, resources and partnership. Our goal is to foster joy, hope, and connection, all with a vision of a humane and harmonious future.
Throughout the years, we have worked tirelessly to assist animals by providing them with a home until they can be adopted into a new family. We rely primarily on individual and corporate donations in order to provide care for animals in our community.
