The event includes the 100min fun run, Beat the Croc novelty race, food stalls, coffee, raffle, and merchandise sales!
WHY? The Cal 100 Fun Run builds community spirit while supporting our school’s long-running Cal 100km Club, where students aim to run 100km each year. This magnificent trail running ultra takes you across the Blackall Range on the Sunshine Coast hinterland, experiencing vibrant ferny forests, subtropical rainforest, tall eucalypt trees, picturesque waterfalls and quiet hinterland hamlets. With strong ties to the local Indigenous tribe, this unbeatable event is loved as much for its tough terrain as its traditions. Make this the year YOU ring the iconic Blackall Bell as you cross the finish line.
Interesting fact: The Blackall Range was a gathering place for Indigenous people for thousands of years. Find out more about their Bunya Feasts of dance, song and food.
Distances: 100km, 50km, 21km
Welcome to the Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra, set at the historic Nine Mile Camping Grounds, Tandur.
Starting at 6:00am, runners take on the classic Backyard Ultra format , a 6.7km loop, every hour, on the hour. Finish the loop within the hour and you go again. Miss the start and you’re out. Simple format, serious challenge.
Set entirely within the campground, the course keeps runners, crew and spectators close to the action. Bring your tent, caravan, or book a cabin and settle in, this is as much about the experience as it is the distance. Camping and accommodation are booked directly with Cobb & Co.
Each lap is a reset. No finish line until there’s only one runner left.
Three challenges define the day:
Beat the clock — complete each loop within the hour.
Be ready to go again — every hour, on the hour.
Make the call — step out and call it quits, or step back in for another loop.
There’s only one winner.
