    Last Tide Standing Backyard Ultra

Is an Ultra for Anyone and Everyone!

Think you can't do an ultramarathon? The 6.7km loop is designed to be achievable, even for beginners, as long as you're consistent. It’s the ultimate, forgiving endurance event—you’re only ever an hour away from your crew, your chair, and your food.

    Its Simplicity is its Charm

The format is simple, every hour, on the hour, a bell rings. You have 6.7km to get back, or you're out. It’s not about speed; it's about consistency, pace, camaraderie and endurance. It’s a race with no predetermined distance or finish line. It only ends when there is one person left standing.

    A Location Like No Other

Located in the heart of the Maritimes, the course is Atlantic Canada’s first true 6.7km “Loop” Backyard Ultra! Situated in both the town of Riverview & the city of Moncton, the trail circles a section of the mighty Petitcodiac River. On the Riverview side there are loads of amenities. While the Moncton side is just you and nature. While running this course, you will traverse two bridges, two parks, two boardwalks, one beer garden and a world-famous river, all while being afforded an almost unobstructed view of the whole course. Which means your crew, family and friends can follow your progress from almost any viewpoint.

    Nowhere Else on Earth

It’s the only place in the world where you can participate in two races at the same time. You can be running the backyard ultra while racing the tidal bore at the very same time! And if that’s not enough, It’s the only Backyard Ultra in Canada, where the entirety of the course forms part of the world’s longest trail, the TCT (Trans Canada Trail). We would argue that it's one of the most Canadian of all Canadian Ultra courses! But don't take our word for it, come decide for yourself.

    Because in our Backyard -

    It’s easy, until it’s not.

participants are encouraged to celebrate their home running clubs by wearing their respected club gear and encouraging club members to come along and join in the fun!

*Please note - participants will not be allowed canopies or shelters. However, run clubs wishing to support their members will be allowed to do so in a designated area. Attending clubs will be required to man their respective canopy at all times - in the event high winds require them to be taken down at moments notice.

    PRIZES & AWARDS

The Last Person Standing - $1000 CDN & Trophy

    The Assist - $500 CDN & Trophy

Opposite Sex of LPS - $300 CDN & Trophy

*if Assist is the opposite sex of LPS then $800 CDN

All participants will receive a finishing medal, swag, Long Run wrist band & T-shirt. *Runners who complete 25+, 50+, 75+ and 100+ miles will also receive a recognition of accomplishment wrist band.

New this event - Tidal force's Ultra Elite Club - a special recognition

for those elite runners who break the 100km mark
