    Junior Trailblazer Training Programs

    The Cowtown Trailblazers are excited to introduce a new training tier specifically for motivated high school distance runners ages 14–17 who are ready to train for a half marathon in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

    Beginning this July as part of our Winter Trailblazer Program, student-athletes will have the opportunity to build endurance, improve speed, gain confidence, and experience the excitement of training alongside the larger Cowtown running community.

    Program Details:

    • Weekly Detailed Schedule

    • Saturday Long Runs – 6:30 AM

    1. Weekly supported long runs on different routes throughout Fort Worth with water stops, Gatorade, and GU provided.
    • Tuesday Speed Workouts – 6:30 PM at TCU
    • Structured weekly speed sessions designed to help runners improve fitness, pacing, running mechanics, and race performance.
    • Trailblazers Training Shirt Included

    • Winter Half- Marathon focused (race occurring in December)

    This program is ideal for cross country runners, track athletes, and dedicated young runners looking to safely prepare for a half marathon while learning proper training habits, consistency, and teamwork.

    The Cowtown Trailblazers have helped thousands of runners reach their goals in a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere, and we are excited to extend this opportunity to the next generation of runners.

    REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

    Cancelation Policy All Lace Up Running events proceed rain or shine or snow or cold. For that reason, we have a strict no refund policy.

    In the event of extreme weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to an half hour. Past this time, the even course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants.

    If conditions turns into lightening, ice or become unsafe, the event may be cancelled. Event changes and cancellations are at the discretion of the Race Director.

    We always strive to produce a full and safe sporting event, but sometimes the weather conditions can affect those plans.

    A lot of hours, days and even months goes into planning a sporting event and we do so with the best intentions. Unfortunately, no one can control the weather and race directors are not the exceptions.

    Our goal is to always produce a full event as scheduled and only modify these plans due to safety concerns some of which can be caused by weather conditions.

    Thank you for your understanding of these policies and we appreciate your participation.

    If you are unable to participate in the event, or the event is canceled, you can still receive your packet, shirt, and medal and you simply run the race on your own time on your own course. See our virtual race information for complete details.

    Go Purple to fight against Domestic Violence!

    On October 24, 2026, Mansfield will turn purple for a powerful purpose.

    Join us for the inaugural Purple Dress Run, a unique and empowering event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to fight against domestic violence. This event is a bold statement of solidarity and a celebration of strength and survival.

    Why a purple dress? Purple is the color of domestic violence awareness. By running or walking in purple, you are visibly showing your support for survivors and becoming an advocate for change. Whether you run, jog, or walk, your participation sends a message that domestic violence will not be tolerated in our community.

    The Cowtown Trailblazer Winter Training Program

    The Cowtown Trailblazer Program is an exciting 6 month training program for those interested in group or virtual training for a Half or Full on or before December 13th, 2026.

    The program kicks off on July 11th. The program uses current fitness levels and your previous race times to calculate your various training paces. These are used during the training period such as interval pace and easy long run pace. The Trailblazer program offers in-person group activities as well as virtual options.

    Perks include different routes each Saturday with water stops, seminars on relevant topics, Tuesday Speedwork at the McLean Middle School Track at 6:30 pm starting mid - late August, and a Trailblazer training shirt. Both a beginner and advanced schedules are available. Everything can also be done virtually. We will send detailed weekly emails and schedule, as well as a private Facebook group page for communication.
