The Cowtown Trailblazer Winter Training Program

The Cowtown Trailblazer Program is an exciting 6 month training program for those interested in group or virtual training for a Half or Full on or before December 13th, 2026.

The program kicks off on July 11th. The program uses current fitness levels and your previous race times to calculate your various training paces. These are used during the training period such as interval pace and easy long run pace. The Trailblazer program offers in-person group activities as well as virtual options.

Perks include different routes each Saturday with water stops, seminars on relevant topics, Tuesday Speedwork at the McLean Middle School Track at 6:30 pm starting mid - late August, and a Trailblazer training shirt. Both a beginner and advanced schedules are available. Everything can also be done virtually. We will send detailed weekly emails and schedule, as well as a private Facebook group page for communication.

Interest Meeting to discuss any questions about the program will be held on June 30th at 6:30 PM at The Cowtown Office and online.

    WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to 1 hour. Past this time, the even course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants.

If conditions turn unsafe, the event may be cancelled. Event changes and cancellations are at the discretion of the Race Director.

We always strive to produce a full and safe sporting event, but sometimes the weather conditions can affect those plans.

Considerable amount goes into planning a sporting event and we do so with the best intentions. Unfortunately, no one can control the weather and race directors are not the exceptions.

Our goal is to always produce a full event as scheduled and only modify these plans due to safety concerns some of which can be caused by weather conditions.

Thank you for your understanding of these policies and we appreciate your participation.
