Miles for Midwives 5k walk/run/roll is at 10am on May 16, 2026 at the beautiful Champoeg State Park, located halfway between Oregon City and Salem. This annual event raises awareness about the impact midwives have on improving outcomes in maternal and infant health and supports two professional midwifery organizations, The American College of Nurse-Midwives Oregon Affiliate and Oregon Midwifery Council. Please join us in celebrating the important work Midwives provide to women, pregnant people, and families by stepping out in support!

    Support Midwifery in Oregon

Money raised will go directly to improving maternal health care in Oregon. All proceeds benefit The Oregon Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Oregon Midwifery Council.

    Run in a Million

This year our event is promoting the global call by the International Confederation of Midwives for One Million More Midwives! Included in the registration fee is an “End of the Oregon Trail” event shirt as long as you are signed up before May 1st.

The Oregon Trail® Game 5k presented by Oregon City Schools Foundation is a run based on the 1980’s classic computer game, The Oregon Trail®! Runners are taken on an interactive journey where they’ll make decisions as if they were traveling from Missouri to Oregon. Will you float or ford the river, or die of dysentery along the way? Each decision you make along the trail will determine your ultimate fate. This one-of-a-kind event celebrates Oregon City’s heritage and encourages an active lifestyle and supports our local schools. Grab your pioneer bonnet and get ready to survive the journey

2026 features the 5K, One Mile Walk and Free Kids Run!

In addition to receiving a timed score, runners and walkers will also receive a game score at the end, based on the decisions they make throughout the game.

    Course features include:

    • Start and end at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center

    • Run past the iconic 100-year-old Municipal Elevator

    • Challenging 223-step run up stairs alongside Singer Hill Falls

    • Beautiful views overlooking the Willamette River and Willamette Falls

    • Run through the historic McLoughlin neighborhood and past attractions including Carnegie Library, McLoughlin House and Barclay House

The Kids Fun Run will start at 9:00am. It'll be divided into two groups: The younger group age 6 and under will run approximately 100 yards. The older group age 7-11 will run approximately 200 yards. The kids' fun race is untimed.

    COURSE:

With an updated race route this year, the Oregon Trail® Game 5K is a fun yet challenging course through historic Oregon City. Get up, get moving, and don't die of a snake bite
