Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

Makeup Date Information: 5/17/2026

Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. The 2026 TEF Tenafly 5K Run and Dog Walk on June 7, 2026

Join us as we celebrate the 28th TEF Tenafly 5K Run & Dog Walk on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

This USATF-sanctioned 5K Run has become one of the largest road races in North Jersey, drawing more than 1,500 runners of all ages and abilities. After the runners leave the starting line, more than 100 dogs - with their owners - follow them along the same 5K course. But that, of course, is only some of what makes our race special. We have family-friendly events for everyone - including a 1-mile Fun Run for runners of all ages and abilities, our Tiger Cub runs for the 6-and-under crowd, and inflatable bounce houses to entertain kids of all ages! All registered participants receive a t-shirt*, a goodie-filled tote bag and great swag* and all finishers receive a medal! In addition, we invite you to visit our Family Health & Fitness Fair to meet our sponsors, share some snacks and drinks and get your face painted. Our eager volunteers are ready to make this your favorite event of the year!

*T-shirts and merchandise available while supplies last; t-shirt sizes not guaranteed.

All proceeds from the event support the Tenafly Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that funds teacher-initiated programs and projects in the Tenafly public schools that the school budget is unable to cover. These grants allow teachers and administrators to bring their creative and innovative ideas into the classroom in order to enhance the learning experience. Over its more than 40 year history, TEF grants have funded a diverse array of programs, including chromebooks and smartboards in the classrooms, digital photography and robotics programs and multiple visiting artists and performances. Visit www.tefnj.org for more information. The Tenafly 5K is the single largest fundraiser for TEF. The event raised over $50,000 in 2025 and has raised more than $850,000 since its inception in 1999.

    Race Start Time and Location:

We are extremely excited to host our one and only triathlon in the all beautiful Palisades Park in New Jersey! This is our second year running the race as well as our interest in expanding more races outside of NYC. With a gorgeous view of the Hudson River, also known as the River Road, and the undulating Henry Hudson Dr, it makes for a very challenging and rewarding course in swimming, running, and biking. As this is an open water event in the Hudson River, the swim can sometimes be challenging and the water temperature may not be as warm in June. Wet suits are allowed but not required. Volunteers from the Hudson Kayak Club will be on duty to ensure a safe and successful swim for all triathletes.

Here is what you can expect on race day: Race start is 8:00 AM sharp at the transition area by the Alpine Marina’s Pavilion comfort station, at the end of the boat dock. Duathletes will start near the parking lot not too far from the transition area and running up the first hill near the entrance.

At the end of the 400 meter swim, Triathletes will head back to the Transition coming off the beach run off. Duathletes will turn around at the .7 miles mark on the Henry Hudson Dr and make their way back to the Transition. Both Triathletes and Duathletes will begin the 10 mile bike portion of the race.

The bike segment is on the Henry Hudson Dr and with your first hill leaving the parking lot. 5 miles out and turning around by the Dyckman Hill Rd, and 5 miles back to the transition. The total elevation gain is over 300ft+. Although there are no long climbs but enough punchy and short hills to force you to pace yourself carefully.

The final segment of the race is a 3 mile run for both Triathletes and Duathletes. You will start from the Transition area and running on the Henry Hudson Dr. Turn around at the 1.5 miles mark and making your way back to the finish by the Transition area, running through the finish flags.

Registration spots are limited to 150 participants. We had over 120 participants last year. Please do register early in case we reach our registration cap much sooner! As of today, 6/10, the race is SOLD OUT.

    Alpine Marina Triathlon distance:

    Swim distance is 400 meters.

    Bike distance is 10 miles.

    Run distance is 3 miles.

    Alpine Marina Duathlon distance:

    Run distance is 1.5 miles.

    Bike distance is 10 miles.

    Run distance is 3 miles.

    Volunteers:

You are needed from 6 am to 11 am. Our races start at 8:00 am unless stated the otherwise. Once you arrived, report to our Race Directors (George or Hunter). They will go over your race duty as well as where you need to be. Don’t leave until the race is finished. You have to sign out to earn your race credit for your next race.

Traversing beautiful viewpoints along the Hudson River from New Jersey to New York and back again the Interstate 17 Trail Run delivers amazing scenery as it tests your physical prowess.

You will run four times on a four mile loop of rugged technical trails after a mile out and back on a closed road to separate the field of runners for safety. You will complete three counterclockwise loops followed by a final loop clockwise. You must check in at the beginning/end of each loop to have your time card punched.

Founded in 2017. This is NOT your average trail race. This trail is meant to test your strength and endurance. Seventeen miles with over 5000 ft. of elevation change, if you're not extremely careful there are many places where you can fall to your death or serious injury. No awards or medals. Race at your own risk.

    Course Description

Mile 0-1: from the start/finish out and back on road

Mile 1-2: heading south along a semi technical rock strewn dirt trail which leads to a steep long descent on rocky uneven jagged stairs and switchbacks. Once you reach the bottom you'll head north on smooth dirt trail along the river with beautiful views

Mile 2-3: a boulder filled rock scramble where you'll need to use your hands to navigate at certain points ends with a singletrack dirt trail with short yet steep ascents and descents along the river

Mile 3-4: singletrack dirt path takes you directly back into another rock scramble, however this portion is much more runnable, ending directly on the shore of the river

Mile 4-5: as you continue along the rocky shore trail you'll encounter the beautiful waterfall signaling your time to ascend the cliff using various switchbacks and staircases. Once you reach the top it's a short trip south through wide cross country skiing trails back to the checkpoint/aid station at the start/finish area

Miles 5-9 & 9-13 repeat miles 1-5. Last loop miles 13-17 you'll reverse your path.

    Aid Station

Mile 1, 5, 9, & 13 Fully stocked with water, sports drink, soda, candies, oranges, chips, pretzels and more! Feel free to leave your own personal supply stash, it will be safe and easy to access each loop.

*Due to distance between aid we highly recommend carrying your own hydration supply (handhelds may be cumbersome at times you may require both hands free)

Email with complete information will be sent a week prior to event date to all registered runners, plz check your junk folder or send us a message if you can’t locate it.

They are famous for "owning Monday nights" with an all-weather social run, and have expanded to include track nights and Saturday long runs, welcoming all paces to join their journey.
