Play It Forward: We will be accepting donations to support the Town of Cary Parks & Recreation Scholarship Program for Youth Sports and 100% of the Kids Dash fee will go to support this program too. It is in keeping with the Town of Cary’s philosophy to ensure that all citizens receive equal opportunity to participate in recreation. The Town provides the opportunity for Cary residents to apply for scholarships and/or reduction of fees for Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources’ programs. There are many needs in our community that have been met because of the support of this program.

BUT have you ever wanted to run a marathon without having to actually run a marathon? With the Greenways Series 26.2 you can do just that when you sign up for both 13.1 races at the Cary Greenways Half-marathon and Cary Greenways Tour. Complete both races and we will combine your finish times to give you a 26.2 finish time with an extra set of awards!

PLUS you can save 10% on each race when you sign up for both together using the Greenways 26.2 Bundle! * You can find the bundle under the main event cards above (click View All Events).

OR, how about an ultra-marathon? Complete all five Fit & Able 13.1 races - a combined total of 65.5 miles! - and again we will combine your finish times for yet another extra set of awards!

All races will have a staggered start beginning at 7:30 AM (in order of distance) and the course closes for all races at 11:00 AM (In-person Race Day Schedule). Their Mission: We are a Corps of Military and First Responder Veterans performing "Hands On" community service with a mission deployment attitude!

The US Veterans Corps was an idea that was based on the experiences that Ft. Bragg and Camp Lejeune Veterans had while volunteering for ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Operation: Coming Home that built and donated a brand new Hero Home for a disabled combat veteran. When the keys were delivered and the event ended there was a strong urge from these Veterans to continue the mission and therefore created the US Veterans Corps.

Other US Veterans Corps missions include:

    • Toys For Lil’ Troops - Toys For Lil’ Troops provides toys to the children of deployed or low income troops.

    • Rescue Ruck - Rescue Ruck provides food for US Military & First Responder Veteran families in need.

    • Rescue Response Team - The Rescue Response Team provides aid during natural disasters. We also respond to other emergency and contingency missions.

    • Tactical Caisson Unit/Funeral Honors - The US Veterans Corps Tactical Caisson Unit transports US Military & First Responder Veterans. No hearse for our Heroes.

    • Military Vehicles USA - Military Vehicles USA is a group of veteran volunteers who restore military vehicles and equipment for civilian service. Our objective is to educate and serve our community with these historic vehicles.

All races will have a mass start at 9:00 AM for the 5K / 10K /15K and the course closes for all races at 10:30 AM (In-person Race Day Schedule).
