25 Miles 60 Miles Gravel

Indigenous-led Adventure Rides Make Cycling Accessible on The Gila River Indian Community. The ride goes through portions of the Gila River Indian Community home of the Akimel O’otham (Pima) and Pee-Posh (Maricopa) tribes. This is a group adventure ride, not a race and we will average around 10 miles per hour so pack a lunch and expect an all-day adventure if you are riding the 60 Mile Big Rez Gravel Route on February 15th. If you can’t commit to the entire day you should choose the 25 Mile Little Rez Gravel Route on February 14th. We will have to stay together because most of the Rez Gravel routes are closed to the public and require a Gila River tribal member to be with non-tribal members.

There are four fee options for each ride (Little Rez Gravel $20, $40, $80 and Big Rez Gravel $30, $60, $120) please choose the one that fits your budget. Funds raised will help Rez Gravel to continue the work helping residents of the Gila River Indian Community learn how to do bicycle repair and maintenance. Funds raised will go towards purchasing tubes, chains, other parts, tools and supplies as they are needed.

A Rez Gravel Dinner and Cultural Presentation will be on Saturday evening on February 14th. There are two fee options ($30 or $60) again please choose the one that fits your budget. Menu will include foods grown on Gila River from Ramona Farms and prepared by a Gila River Caterer.

Camping: Unfortunately I had to cancel the camping for the 2026 events.

Help Arizona residents build a better and brighter future while they journey life with Spina Bifida!

Spina Bifida is the most common permanently disabling birth condition, yet the state of Arizona does not recognize it as a developmental disability after the age of six. These children experience lack of care continuity, often have as many as 30 surgeries by the age of 15, and are usually full time wheelchair users.

The Spina Bifida Association of Arizona is an organization that advocates for those with spina bifida as well as brings awareness, provides programs, supplies, and services. One of the services we provide is providing adaptive cycles to children and adults; that is where the proceeds for this event go.

Heels4Wheels raises funds to assist with costs of bike repair/replacement and the cost of placing a bike. When a child experiences the joy of being active and having freedom to move about on a bike, this will often lead to a more active lifestyle and better health. See more at SBAAZ.org

Tie up your running shoes and be a part of making it happen in Arizona!

Children ages 5 and under in a stroller are free and no registration is required. If your children would like the race swag then you will need to register them.
