P.R.I.D.E. Inc 9th Annual Running of the Elves 5K

With a legit 12.3 mile Time Trial, this is the fastest bike course around. Not to mention a shady and flat 4.4 mile run around a beautiful lake! The Swim is 1/2 Mile of calm and clean waters. Join us for what is fast becoming one of the most fun local road races! The family friendly event offers a race for all ages and abilities. The 5k and 10k courses are USATF Certified and will start and finish on the grounds at the Pete Sepe Pavilion, taking runners on a scenic run out toward Touisett Point, past picturesque farms and quaint stone walls. We will continue to offer our 1-Mile Walk on the Bike Path and of course Kids Obstacle Races too! All followed by a East Bay Food festival, beer garden, live music - all to benefit the Bristol Warren Education Foundation

Every runner will receive 2 food coupons and one drink coupon on their bib. The food coupons can be redeemed for select items at food vendors and the drink coupon can be redeemed for an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage at the Molson Coors Beer Garden.

Courses:

• USATF Certified 10k & 5k courses start on the grounds of the Pete Sepe Pavilion follow the Bike Path to Long Lane and on out through Touisset. Both races will be chip timed.

• 1-Mile Walk on Bike Path to Long Lane (or further if you wish) and return.

• Kids Obstacle Course Races - on the grounds of the Pete Sepe Pavilion.

10k & 5k Awards:

• First overall male and female finishers

• First male and female overall finishers in age groups:

9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & up

****TEAM AWARDS - The team that raises the most money, the fastest team (minimum of 3 members, fastest average pace), and the team with the most team spirit (can include costumes and overall enthusiasm) will receive special recognition!

The Somerset Economic Development Committee is proud to host the Shirley May France 10K Road Race, celebrating the legacy of hometown hero Shirley May France. As a determined teenager, Shirley captured national attention with her two courageous attempts to swim the English Channel in 1948 and 1949—coming within just one mile of making history on her second try. Her spirit of perseverance continues to inspire generations.

This scenic 10K course winds through the heart of Somerset, beginning and ending on historic Riverside Avenue. Runners will loop around Dublin Street, High Street, and South Street, before crossing the finish line at Comfort Zone Grille & Bar, where a lively after-party awaits racers and spectators alike.

This year we are also offering 5k and 1 mile races along historic Riverside Avenue sporting scenic water views.

A Race with a Mission: Supporting Local

Proudly presented by Bank Five, this event is more than a run—it’s a rally for our community. Our 2026 charity of choice is, The Cure Starts Now - Somerset chapter. Led by Ken and Michelle Oheman in honor of their late daughter Selina. The Cure Starts Now raises money for research on pediatric brain cancer. We are proud to help support such a wonderful cause that has had a profound affect on our community. The race is also designed to spotlight and stimulate business for the local establishments that make Somerset shine. About This Event

This is the twelfth annual Bridgewater Police 5k and 1mi Kids Fun Run. Enjoy a beautiful run through historic downtown Bridgewater. The course is relatively flat, and fast! This event starts and ends at the Bridgewater Police Station.

The kids 1mi fun run will be a times event and will begin PROMPTLY at 8:30am, followed by the 5k PROMPTLY at 9:00am. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.

Raffles and awards will follow at approximately 9:45am.

Capacity Limits

This event will be limited to 400 participants.

T-Shirts

We will once again be offering t-shirts for all registered participants of the 5k. You must be registered by August 14, 2026 to guarantee your size. After that, we will do our best. LADIES sizes tend to run SMALL, please plan accordingly.

Bib Pick-up and In Person Registration

Bib pick-up and in person registration will begin on Friday September 25, 2026 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Bridgewater Police Station located at 220 Pleasant St and is also the start line for our race. Pick-up will be available again the morning of the event Saturday September 26, 2026 starting at 7:00am at the Bridgewater Police Department located at 220 Pleasant St..

Please note that in person registrations must be paid by cash or check. We will be unable to accept credit cards the day of the event. You can register in person on Friday September 25, 2026 at pick up, or the morning of the event if there is space available.

Finishers Medals

All runners that cross the finish line will receive a finishers medal. All kids participating in the 1mi Kids Fun Run will receive a ribbon as they cross the finish line.

Primary Beneficiary

The primary beneficiary for the 12th annual BPD5k is Plymouth County Critical Incident Stress Management Team (PC CISM).

PC CISM is dedicated to supporting First Responders and Frontline Professionals through peer support, 1:1 conversations, education and on-going training. PC CISM provides a safe, confidential space for responders to talk, connect and navigate the challenges that come with serving others. Through training, outreach and peer-driven support, our mission is to strengthen resilience, promote wellness, and ensure no responder feels alone.
