Welcome to the fourth edition of Run With Rob!

After powerful runs across Manitoba in 2023, New Brunswick in 2024, and Prince Edward Island in 2025, Run With Rob is heading to Nova Scotia.

Inspired by the legacy of Terry Fox, Rob Tétrault is running across Nova Scotia to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian CMV Foundation.

Congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the #1 infectious cause of infant disability in Canada, yet the Maritimes still lack universal newborn screening. Universal screening would ensure babies born with CMV get timely interventions, improving health outcomes and reducing lifelong disabilities.

Be part of the movement. Run alongside Rob for one (or more!) of the legs and help push for life-saving screening across the region.

    Key Details:

Despite slavery being abolished, anti-Black racism is still prevalent in our provinces and country. To honour Emancipation Day (August 1), collectively we are accepting that slavery existed in what we now call Canada. As a founder and co-organizer of Black Lives Matter (BLM) - In This TOGETHER, our executive team wanted to look at ways to enable our group’s mission statement (see below) to educate, but also create a better understanding of slavery and its implications on the social determinants of health of people of African ancestry.

It is extremely important to spread awareness through acknowledging but also acting on ways to address anti-black racism past and present. To do so, we must acknowledge, act, and ameliorate.

The Emancipation Run/Walk is just one small step at MOVING forward in the right direction!

A little bit about BLM - In This TOGETHER: BLM- In this TOGETHER was formed on July 11, 2020 in Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia. This was largely in response to George Floyd’s death and the means to spread awareness by unifying people to MOVE within the BLM Movement, as sitting still does nothing.

Our group, BLM - In this TOGETHER supports the BLM Movement. This is done in contrary to the fact of everything that is going on in this world that has implicated the lives of Black people, and even here in Nova Scotia.

Our vision is to move within the Movement and to move to dismantle inequality, racism, police brutality, and systematic racism, but also bringing awareness to the impacts of such experiences on one’s overall health.

North End Runners started in Halifax in 2013 with a straightforward vision: explore the city's neighbourhoods and trails while building community. More than a decade later, the crew has grown into a thriving group that welcomes runners of every pace, goal, and background. Founded on the belief that running brings people together, North End Runners treats every finish line as equally meaningful. The vibe is warm and genuinely inclusive, from newcomers on their first Wednesday outing to seasoned members who've logged years with the group. Every week at 6 PM near the oval on the Common, the crew gathers to run roads or trails together, proving that the best part of running isn't about speed or distance, it's about showing up alongside people who get it.
