Join Special Olympics Northern California for the coolest event of the year – the Bay Area 5K and Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. This timed run will take you along the beautiful Alameda beach. Each participant will receive a finisher medal with first through third place awards presented to top finishers in each age category. REGISTER EARLY FOR THE 5K AS FEES INCREASE ON 1/1/2026.

This event is part of the Bay Area 5K & Polar Plunge event. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume!

    This race will take place at the Bay Farm Ferry Terminal and feature all the beautiful views, flats course and post race beer, food and music

    • 4/23 - 4/25/26 ~ Packet pick up: Lauren's Closet 1420 Park St. Alameda. Ca. 10:00am - 5:00pm

    General Overview:

    All of the runs will showcase parts of Alameda point, new parks on the west end of Alameda, the USS Hornet and coastal trails. the course is flat and fast and mostly contained to Alameda Point

    there will also be music from DJ Mike, food and and age group winner awards presented by Burneikis law. Come enjoy a fun local race with a community feel, and support a great beneficiary in the Alameda Hospital Foundation.

    The course travels through beautiful Joaquin Miller & Redwood Regional parks. You'll wind through tall redwoods along popular Sequoia-Bayview and French trails. Then, come back to the finish down the very technical Cinderella trail. Some runners call it the "Wicked Step Sisters" trail.

    Native American Health Center (NAHC) is excited to announce our 25th Running Is My High (RIMH) 5k/10k Fun Run and Walk themed "25 Years in Motion" on Saturday, June 6th, 2026 at the Fairy Land area of Lake Merritt; 699 Bellevue Ave., Oakland, CA 94610.

    NAHC created Running is My High to engage community from all walks of life in an event promoting physical, mental, and cultural health. Annually, our 5K/10K draws over 400 runners and walkers from across the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. This special event will feature programming that honors Community Health and Native American cultural practices; includes guest speakers; and features outreach tables to connect our community to helpful resources.

    Online registration closes on June 5th and costs $30 for adults and $15 for youth, in-person registration on the day of the event (6/6) is $35 for adults and $20 for youth.
