Michael aka "Chip" Cawley lived a life full of passion and perseverance. Whether it was fishing at every river and lake he came across, snowboarding with his buds, going on hikes, riding on his quad, or golfing with his poppy, he lived true to himself. Curious about the world, Michael strived to learn about various interests. He was a graduate of Valley View High School and Marywood University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. While at Valley View, he was a member of the wrestling and soccer teams. He was also trained by Greg Mancuso as a kickboxer at Northeast Karate. He never limited himself and always accomplished his dreams. Some of his many including excelling at his new job and buying a house. He saw people for who they were and treated everyone with kindness and humility. He loved all animals especially his boxer doggos. He was a caring son and enjoyed spending time with his parents Stacey & Brett. After recently being diagnosed with epilepsy, Michael passed away unexpectedly

at work from a grand mal seizure on February 23, 2023.

Michael's unconditional love transcends this universe. His legacy will live on through us & with us. We are raising funds to make a difference in the lives of people living with epilepsy. All donations will support the following beneficiaries; Camp Freedom, Adopt a Boxer Rescue, Griffin Pond Animal Rescue, and Valley View Wrestling Scholarships.

Thank you for your love and support,

    The Cawley Family

If you're feeling extra competitive, sign up for our pie-eating contest Saturday afternoon! All proceeds from the Blueberry Festival (and 5K/Fun Run) benefit the Susquehanna Historical Society & Free Library Association.

The race will be run through the streets of quaint and picturesque Montrose. The 5K is a timed race, while the Fun Run is not.

Q: Is there a cutoff time for the half?

A: Yes! Due to the heat, we ask runners to finish in 3:00. There is a hard cutoff of 3:15. Those who may run longer than 3:00 are encouraged to run the quarter marathon.

Q: What is the course surface like?

A: The out-and-back course on The Susquehanna Warrior Trail is flat hard-packed dirt and gravel. 90% is shaded.

Q: Are dogs allowed on the course?

A: Yes, dogs are allowed on the course. However, due to safety and insurance reasons, we discourage participants from running with their dogs. The race is on a public trail that allows dogs, so we do not ban dogs from the race. We ask that if you choose to run with your dog, you only do so if your dog has extensive experience running in groups and with strangers. According to PA state law, all dogs, whether running or spectating or just meandering through on a Saturday walk, MUST be leashed while on public property.

Q: Are strollers allowed on the course?

A: No. The trail is not well-suited for strollers.

Q: Can I see a map of the half course?

A: Yes! (And the quarter marathon is the first half the half). FOLLOW THIS LINK HERE.

Welcome to the 2026 Annual Wyalusing North Branch Triathlon! To be held Saturday August 15, 2026. Shotgun start at 8:00am. If you don't already, please follow our Facebook page for updates as well - WNBT - Facebook. We're thrilled to announce we are returning to our ORIGINAL course this year! With the shift being to Grovedale Winery for our start and finish line.

We happily invite you to join us for a KIDS Try a Tri event and athlete mixer the night before, August 14, at 5:00 at Grovedale! Complete early racer packet pickup, join us for live music and food trucks, and mix and mingle with the athletes and volunteers that make it all happen. A smores station, and poster making space will be available as well! The kids event will include a run, 'slip and slide', bike course! Separate registration available here: (Kids link to Come March 1)

    DAY OF EVENT:

    1. Registration will open at 6:30 a.m. at Grovedale Winery. Everyone will receive a bib and the race chip will be attached to your bike. If you're a team - only the member doing the bike leg will receive a chip

    2. Please stage your kayak and bike before 7:30 a.m. There will not be time after that point to do so.

    3. Pre-race talk will begin promptly at 7:45 a.m.

    4. Race starts at 8 a.m.

    5. A pace car will lead the runners to the Terrytown Launch and there will be a water station right before at the Terrytown Cemetery.

    6. The skilled staff from Endless Mountain Outfitters will be on sight at the launch if you need help getting your kayak into the water, but they will not do so unless directed by you.

    7. At the Endless Mountain Outfitters leg change - there will be a water station.

    8. Our finish line is right back at Grovedale where we will have awards, food, and live music for anyone looking to unwind and cool off.

    IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

    1. You need to wear a life jacket while kayaking and a helmet when biking. These need to be hooked and racers will be disqualified if they are not wearing these.

    2. We love to have family and friends there as spectators cheering you on BUT we do not want them running the course with you or biking the course. This is not safe for them or for our participants. Please remind them of this if they plan to do that.

    3. We will stress that there are no spectators who drive off toward the Terrytown launch site. There is no space to accommodate cars there, because this area is still open to the public and there is just not enough room. We encourage everyone to leave from the high school and go over to EMO to watch you come in off the water. There are some great places to view from that point.
