About the Event

The Deltaville 5K & Kids Fun Run is a beloved Independence Day tradition that brings together runners, walkers, families, and visitors for a scenic, community‑focused race in the heart of Deltaville, VA. Held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, this year’s event proudly celebrates Independence Day and our nation’s quincentennial with a morning of fitness, fun, and community spirit.

The event benefits the Deltaville Community Association (DCA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting community life in Deltaville. Proceeds from the race help maintain and enhance key community facilities, including the DCA Community Center, the Ricky Taylor Memorial Community Pool, and the Historic Deltaville Ballpark.

    Kingswood Recreation Association is hosting our 10th annual 5K fun run and walk and a 1 mile fun run for kids! The event will be held Saturday June 7, at 8:30 and 8:00 am respectively. All race

    participants may spend the day at Kingswood Pool after the race. The race proceeds will benefit Kingswood Pool and Recreation Association. The 1 mile fun run begins at 8:00 am and the 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 am. The awards will be held at 9:45 am with 90+ awards. This race is a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix Event.

    Awards: Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, to the top three in five year ages groups from 14 and under to 70 and over. Awards are also given to the top three men and women in the walk division.

    T-shirts: T-shirts and exact sizes are only guaranteed to entrants who register by Wednesday, May 27, 2026. After May 27, shirts are first come, first served, while supplies last.

    Kingswood Pool 5K Run Course

    Start and finish - pool asphalt driveway at "No Parking" sign, close to the clubhouse. Runners congregate on the wide area of the parking lot.

    Right on Spring Road.

    Left on West Kingswood Drive to very end of road out-and-back, with one cul-de-sac to the right on Regency Court, necessary to make our 3.1-mile distance for the 5K.

    Right on Spring.

    Right on Oak Road to end of road out-and-back.

    Right on Perry (side street) on way back.

    Left on Holly Road.

    Diagonal crossing of Spring to Right on Kingswood Drive.

    Right on Dover Road.

    Left on Oxford Road for one block.

    Left on Kingswood Drive.

    Right on Spring.

    Right into pool entrance. And continue on gravel, then asphalt, driveway to the pool clubhouse and sign. Distance 3.105 miles for 5K.

    One Mile Fun Run

    For the one mile fun run:

    1. Go out the pool sidewalk/pathway to Kingswood Drive, and do the Kingswood Drive/Dover Road/Kingwood Drive loop (a portion of the 5K course), with a brief out-and-back to just before Spring Road, returning by the same concrete sidewalk to the finish. Same start/finish line as 5K.

    Just minutes from historic Williamsburg, VA and next door to the original Jamestown Settlement, the Jamestown Triathlon is a great mid-season race. The swim takes place at beautiful Jamestown beach

    where you can watch Osprey catch their breakfast or see a pod of dolphins swim along the course. The bike course is flat, fast and parallels the Cap-Cap bike trail along Rt. 5. The run course is simply amazing as it winds through historic farmland and forest on a combination of bike paths and jogging trails. Be sure to stay for the weekend to experience all that the greater Williamsburg area has to offer, including the new Billsburg Brewery, the Jamestown Settlement and so much MORE.

    ***The Jamestown Sprint & Olympic Triathlons are the USA Triathlon Virginia State Championships.

    Qualifying for the Toyota Age Group National Championships. State Championships will qualify the top 35% or top five (5) finishers in an age group (whichever is greater). You may only qualify for Olympic-distance Nationals by placing in the Olympic distance State Championship race or Sprint Nationals by placing in the sprint distance State Championship race.

    High School State Championships Exemption: All high school athletes who finish any of the State High School Championships will automatically qualify for Sprint-distance (pending they are at least age 15 as of December 31, 2025)

    Any state championship that occurs after June 1, 2025 will qualify for BOTH 2025 AND 2026 Toyota Age Group Nationals.     Athletes do not have to be a resident of a state to win that state’s championship. Any age group athlete competing in an age group division is eligible to win any state championship.

    All runners and walkers are invited to participate in this inaugural race in the newly established Machicomoco State Park. With sweeping views of the York River, the course will follow a flat,

    3.1-mile loop.

    Presented by the Peninsula Track Club, the race proceeds will go to the Fairfield Foundation that is responsible for the preservation and restoration of the Timberneck House.

    All race registrants and/or spectators will be required to pay a $5 admission fee per vehicle.

    Packet pickup will be at race site from 7:00-8:00 am on race day.
