  Brecksville Home Days Annual Family Fun Run 5K & 1-Mile Walk

  Join us for a fun and meaningful run through the scenic streets of Brecksville! The Brecksville Home Days Annual Family Fun Run 5K & 1-Mile Walk kicks off at the Brecksville Community Center, bringing the community together for fitness, family fun, and fundraising.

  All proceeds benefit Run For Your Life, Cuyahoga Valley Youth Organization, and Kick It for Children's Cancer, supporting youth programs and cancer research.

  START

  • 7:00 a.m. - Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup

  • 8:00 a.m. - 5K Run (Chip Timed)

  • 1 Mile Walk (un-timed) to Start immediately after 5K start

  • 9:00 a.m. - Awards Ceremony inside pavilion

  REGISTRATION

  • $15 pre-registration for the 1 mile walk/run

  • $20 pre- registration for the 5k chip timed run

  • $25 race day registration for both races

  In 2026, the Parma Run-Walk for Pierogies will turn FIFTEEN years old! Once again, many charities and community projects will be recipients of the proceeds. Guaranteed to the first 600 participants: our signature t-shirt, pierogies on site from Perla Pierogies along with a certificate for free pierogies courtesy of Parma’s own Perla Pierogies. We will also have icey, wet towels to cool you off right after the finish line. The top three women and men in our many age categories will win our famous pierogie necklace award. Our event takes place on the very flat Tri-C West Campus conveniently located at 11000 West Pleasant Valley Road. We hope you will join us on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

  25K DISTANCE! Point to Point from Pine Lane to Oak Grove – Experience the same trails as the 50k!

  The Buckeye Trail 50k was started in 1994 as Joe Jurczyk’s informal birthday run/race. Joe has been running the Buckeye Trail since his college days – which predates the CVNP. The original course was an out and back starting at Oak Grove and going south to Pine Lane. It also included segments to Brecksville Road (the first course was actually longer than 50k!) The out and back course enabled all participants to see every other participant at some point along the course.

  While the park systems mature and routes are changed to incorporate many different needs, the allure of the Buckeye Trail 50k remains. In the first year, the event had thirteen finishers with Steve Godale and Mark Godale, both running their first ultramarathon, finishing together in first place in 5:12:18. As trail running has become more popular, so has the race. As one of the first ultras in Ohio and now in its 31st year, the Buckeye Trail 50k is recognized as the oldest trail 50k in the state of Ohio.

  The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile celebrates Tom's lasting impact on the lives he touched. Tom served as the track and cross-country coach for over twenty years, first at Alliance High School...

  The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile celebrates Tom's lasting impact on the lives he touched. Tom served as the track and cross-country coach for over twenty years, first at Alliance High School (Alliance, OH) and then at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. The proceeds from this event will be used to create a scholarship in Tom's name and be awarded to a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District.

  The 5K and 1-mile events will each be chip-timed. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to participate. You can register for both distances, and your times will be combined to determine rankings for the combo category. The 5K course will feature split points at every mile and live participant tracking via The Last Mile mobile APP. The 1-mile course features a split at the half-mile mark. All runners will be treated to ice cream at the finish line - Tom's absolute favorite food!
