Veteran’s Lorton 5k, 10k, & 1M

Proceeds from this race will go toward Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter’s scholarship efforts for local high school students, as well as towards Chapter donations to local health events, such as the annual American Diabetes Association Step Out to Stop Diabetes. (Note: registrations for this race are not tax deductible)

Miles for Migraine will host its 10th annual 2-mile Walk, 5K Run and Relax DC/VA/MD event on Saturday October 3rd at Laurel Hill Central Green Park in Lorton Virginia. This event is a fundraiser for Migraine & Headache Awareness, Treatment & Research. It's more than a walk/run - come connect with your local migraine & headache community, listen to our speakers & visit sponsors in the festival area.

The 5K run is professionally timed. The Walk and the Relax events are free, but donations are encouraged. All walk and run finishers receive a finisher medal.

Funds raised will benefit Miles for Migraine free programs & services as well as the MedStar Georgetown Headache Center to support local migraine research and fellowship training programs.

Located just south of the Capital Beltway in Lorton, this beautiful race course includes a mixture of forested and open meadow singletrack meandering through 1600 acres of the former prison grounds. The race starts and ends under the old guard towers at the Workhouse Arts Center, which is the site of the former Lorton Reformatory. The course is one of our least technical and most of it is on singletrack that is a mix of dirt and crushed stone. The only short pavement sections are at the beginning and end of the race. There are no extended climbs, but lots of short ups and downs.

The goal of the charity partnership is to first and foremost to raise awareness of the services Homestretch provides to families in our area. In addition, we hope to raise funds that will directly support their efforts. Please consider making a donation when you register.
