Monster Dash Run/Walk 5k

Event Information

Our annual event will be held on August 8, 2026. This event is for runners, walkers, and bikers of all skill levels. Proceeds raised at this event will help support the Wisconsin Lions Camp, which provides a free camping experience to Wisconsin youth and adults with disabilities.

Schedule of Events

• 8:00 am -Snacks and refreshments available for participants in the Dining Hall

• 8:00 am - Registration and check-in starts outside of the Dining Hall

• 9:00 am - 15 mile Bike Race will start

• 9:30 am - 10K will start

• 9:45 am - 5K will start

• 10:00 am - 1 mile Donut Dash will start

• Awards Ceremony will start after all races have finished (approximately 11am)

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at Shadow Lake in downtown Waupaca—easy to find, hard to forget! Kick off your race with an out-and-back swim in in Shadow Lake. Then, gear up for an epic bike ride through the serene countryside southeast of Waupaca, where you'll breeze past sparkling lakes and rolling hills. Finish strong with a fast-paced run through the charming streets of downtown Waupaca, crossing the finish line in style!

Aqua/Bike – swim and bike your way to victory

Youth Race – designed for our next generation of athletes

Apple Tree Connections (ATC) Early Learning Center along with various community partners will be hosting the Steps for Sidney 5K Run/Walk with proceeds benefiting N-E-W Healing Hive.

Event details and schedule

The race begins at 8:30am. Packet pickup can be arranged prior to the race by calling 920-560-5437. Otherwise, packet pickup on day of registration begins at 7:30am.

Participants meet in the playground at ATC. The race begins from Canvasback Court, which is directly adjoining to the playground back entrance. The flat route weaves through the neighborhood and around a pond. The finish line is back at ATC. Food and beverages to follow the race, along with medals for top finishers and door prizes from local businesses. Parking is available in the ATC parking lot, on Providence Ave, and streets off of Providence. This event is athlete and family friendly and suited for runners, walkers, adults, and families with children. Strollers and MP3 players are welcome; however, pets and bikes are not allowed.

The Shine Bright Against Cancer Color Run/Walk is a vibrant, family-friendly event that’s fun for all ages and fitness levels! This run/walk through Hatten Park, in New London, WI, is all about having a blast with friends and family while supporting a great cause.

The colorful route is designed for everyone to enjoy—whether you’re running, walking, or cheering on your team in their best costumes. Join us for a day full of fun, laughter, and community spirit! Best dressed contest, includes all photos shared with the hashtag, #ShineBrightAgainstCancer! Gift cards will be awarded to those who have outfits that inspire COLOR!

Shine Bright Against Cancer Color Run/Walk is hosted by Changing Lives Foundation a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing life-changing health challenges while providing financial assistance that empower brighter futures.

Enjoy the autumn colors and remarkable scenery along the shores of the Fox River. The Freaky 5K is for participants of all ages and abilities. Come out to enjoy a day with friends, family and co-workers. There is even a COSTUME CONTEST for you to channel your inner child.

PACKET PICKUP

Participants can pick up their race bib, timing chip, goodie bag and t-shirt at the following times. Sorry NO early pickup on Friday.

Friday, Oct. 24 @Appleton YMCA from 3-5 pm.

Saturday, Oct.25 @ Pierce Park from 6:30-8:30 am

COSTUME CONTEST

The Costume Contest will take place following the 5K run/walk. Awards will be given for the following categories: Adult, Group, Child. We encourage originality and FUN!

AWARDS

Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall (Male / Female) and we will be awarding the winner of each age group. Age groups are: 9 and under, 10-19, 20 -29, 30-39, 40 - 49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
