On Saturday, February 21, join the cause and move your paws to help some of Canada's most vulnerable arctic species.

This year marks the 12th edition of Move Your Paws. 5K and 1K distance options are open to anyone looking to move their body with a purpose - runners, walkers, fitness folk, and arctic species fans of all ages and abilities. Bundle up and bring the whole family for a day of outdoor fun, fitness and fundraising!

With a fundraising goal of $35,000, every dollar raised will directly support new enrichment items at your Toronto Zoo for both the Polar Bears and Arctic wolves as well as support ongoing conservation efforts.

All participants will receive an exclusive Move Your Paws souvenir item, personalized bib, official time, and finisher medal crafted by ChopValue.

Registration includes complimentary parking and admission for the day, non-transferable.

Enfield will be timing the 5K and 1K! There is a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes for the 5K and 1 hour for the 1K.

    Registration Includes

    • Entry into the Scarborough 5K or 1K Kids Run

    • A mandatory minimum $15 charitable donation supporting BGC East Scarborough

    The Course

    NOTE: DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON THE TRAIL THE RACE WILL NOT RUN EAST TOWARDS ROUGE BEACH.

    The run starts at the Port Union Waterfront Park and heads west along the Waterfront Trail, crosses the Waterfront Trail Bridge, then turns north to follow the Highland Creek trail. At 2.5k the course turns around and returns back to start line at Port Union Waterfront Park. The 10k run will turn around at the start and do another lap back west and north along the trail, then return to the start.

    Water Stations

    There will be two water stations on the course, on at the start/finish, and one at the 2.5km turn around. The 10k runners will go through both water stations twice.

    Parking

    The is free parking at the Rouge Hill GO station's west parking lot at the foot of Port Union Road. From there it is a short walk to the start line at Port Union Waterfront Park.

    Washrooms

    There are washrooms in the Port Union Village Commons Park,

    Prizes

    Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female participants from each age category in each event. At least 18 prizes will be available. Depending on participation, there may also be prizes for special participants (e.g. para or special athletes).

    Every participant who provides an e-mail address will be sent a personalized certificate showing their standing (for the top 3 positions) or participation within their event, gender and age group.
