1 Miles 5k Fun Run Run Walk

The East Oreland Neighborhood Association (EONA) is bringing back the Oreland 5K for the thirteenth year. This community event includes a 5K run, 1 mile walk and ½ mile kid fun run. This year race proceeds are being donated to The Breathing Room.

The Breathing Room Foundation’s mission is to provide individualized care and support to families affected by

cancer – addressing emotional, physical, spiritual and financial challenges so that families can focus on

healing. Their programs include financial support for critical needs, transportation to treatment, children’s

support (holiday baskets, school supplies), and home-based comfort services like groceries, meals and

check-ins. They serve families in the greater Philadelphia region (including Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware,

Philadelphia and Chester counties). Since its founding in 1997, The Breathing Room Foundation has served

over 20,000 recipient families.

Join the Glenside 5K Run / 1-Mile Fun Walk and support the 4th of July celebration, proudly hosted by the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA).

Since 1904, Glenside has celebrated Independence Day with a full day of community fun—including our beloved parade and fireworks. Did you know it’s 100% funded by donations? By signing up, you’ll help keep this cherished tradition going strong.

Please help the GGPA by asking 50 family members, friends, coworkers, or neighbors to donate $1 or more to support our cherished July 4th festivities. Proceeds benefit the fireworks display.

In Memory of Michael Gillespie: Keep the Parade Running honors the memory of Michael Gillespie, a beloved public servant, retired Abington Township Police officer, and true Glenside icon who passed away in 2009.

A 26-year police veteran, nearly two-decade Abington Township Commissioner, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and Abington High School graduate (Class of ’56), Michael devoted his life to service. He co-chaired the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) and was deeply involved in the July 4th Parade and Fireworks, as well as the Marine Corps League, Kiwanis, and Citizens and Police Together (CAPT).

Remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and tireless dedication, Michael’s legacy of service and love for Glenside lives on. 🇺🇸
