Weekend Group Runs

We are expanding our group run offerings. We will always hold a "Meet the Road Runners" run at Rockland Lake on the Third Sunday of every month. That run is particularly good for beginning runners or those new to the club looking for running buddies as there will always be someone there from Club Leadership and we'll make sure no one runs alone, whatever your pace.

We will add additional group runs whenever we have a club volunteer to lead one. Typically, those will also be at Rockland Lake at the same time and place, but we may vary that in the future. Make sure you are registered so you get the e-mail notifications which will be sent out on Friday morning so you can plan your weekend. If you would like to lead a weekend group run, let us know using the contact button below.

At Rockland Lake, we meet at Parking Field #6 (colloquially known as the "Fishing Station"). That's where runners from around the county typically gather, so it's a great opportunity to meet potential training partners. Parking is free if you enter before 8:00 AM. In Google Maps, use Plus Code "43VC+9W Valley Cottage, New York"

We usually run one or more loops of the inner path, clockwise around the lake. The first loop will be "all abilities" and we'll make sure no one gets left behind. After that, you are free to join a pace group that suits you and do extra loops or venture onto the outer roadway. There's sure to be someone there who knows the routes.

Register Just Once for All the Group Runs in 2026.

  1. So we can communicate with you if there are any changes, please register with your contact information.

  2. Non-club members may run with us, but you'll need to register and accept the RRR waiver

  3. Anyone who shows up on the day without registering will be asked to enter their name on a sign-in sheet which includes the waiver.

Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life brings you the 4th annual Miles4Marcus fundraising challenge.

Marcus Kayal was a Mahwah High School student and member of the Boys Soccer family who passed away in December of 2019. Marcus had a passion for the game of soccer and always pushed himself to play at the highest level. While he exceled in sport, Marcus was a young man who also put a tremendous amount of focus towards his academics and was highly respectful to all people that he interacted with. On the field, Marcus wore #4. The name of the event, and its purpose are designed to reflect the values that Marcus brought to the community and soccer program, on and off the field.

The format of the event is as follows:

    1. Each participant who registers has the option to run or walk.

    2. Each participant will have one hour to complete as many laps as possible.

    3. Each mile completed by each participant will be recorded by event volunteers.

    4. As a collective group, we are trying to run or walk as many miles in memory of Marcus as possible.

    5. Based on the number of participants, our targeted goal will be announced before the event officially begins.

All proceeds raised will go directly to Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life which honors the life and legacy of Marcus Kayal by providing preventative cardiac screenings to students at Mahwah High School, in partnership with the MCore Foundation.

Their motto, "We don’t take it too serious, but we’re serious runners," sums up their approach: they focus on exploring the city together and pushing themselves, not on tracking stats.
