Welcome to Yachats, West Coast Gravel!

You’ve arrived at the “Gem of the Oregon Coast,” where towering Sitka spruces meet the crashing Pacific, and every sunset paints the sky in unforgettable hues.

This route is 20-30 minutes quicker than our Saturday event, with a remote start and finish 1 mile from Yachats!

You're in for a special day!

    Discover Your Coastal Playground

    • Yachats State Recreation Area: Just steps from town, explore tide pools, picnic on seaside rocks, or simply listen to the surf roll in.

    • Cape Perpetua: Drive a few miles south for panoramic ocean vistas, ancient forest trails like Amanda’s Trail, and Thor’s Well’s dramatic show of nature’s power.

    • The Little Log Church & Museum: A charming historic venue perfect for a quiet moment of reflection—or even an impromptu photo op.

    Savor Local Flavors

Fuel your adventures with fresh-caught seafood and local brews. Don’t miss Drift Inn or many other tempting places to dine for a true taste of the coast.

    Gather & Celebrate

Tonight, we’ll kick off at the Yachats Commons, the heart of community life—complete with ocean-inspired ambiance, local art, and excellent acoustics for our Graveo gathering.

We’re thrilled to host West Coast Gravel in our seaside hamlet. May your time here be filled with awe-inspiring landscapes, memorable connections, and the warm hospitality that makes Yachats so special. Welcome home to the Oregon Coast!

Join us at the historic JM Collingwood Barn, west of Pretty Prairie, Kansas in the beautiful Ninnescah River Valley! The largest barn in Kansas, built in 1913, is a hidden gem and you'll be in awe of its architectural craftsmanship!

    [Loft w Cistern.jpeg]

    [Barn with thunderheads.jpeg]

The routes will head south from the barn into Kingman County this year, exploring the roller hills, bluffs, and open grasslands between Murdock and Kingman.

The roads in our area of Kansas range from fast hard pack to light sand over hard pack with some stretches of deeper sand that change in firmness with rainfall amounts. We do our best to limit the amount of deep sand, but it is all part of the challenge in the Ninnescah River Valley.

REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES YOUR CHOICE OF A LONG-SLEEVED OR SHORT-SLEEVED T-SHIRT, A HOLOGRAPHIC STICKER, A HOMEMADE POST-RIDE SOUP AND CINNAMON ROLL MEAL (MEAT AND VEGETARIAN OPTIONS), AND AN OPTIONAL CRAFT BEER FROM SANDHILLS BREWING. REGISTER BY OCTOBER 14TH TO GUARANTEE A T-SHIRT BY EVENT DAY.

[short sleeve tee.jpg] [long sleeve tee.jpg]

YOU MAY BUY ADDITIONAL MERCHANDISE ITEMS IF YOU WISH…Extra t-shirts from this year and previous years' events, stickers, and meal vouchers for supporters that attend with you.

The top 3 riders of each race will receive a custom award created by talented, local artists. First place will again this year be a one-of-a-kind metalwork barn rat award. Photos of the awards will be posted on social media closer to the event.

After your ride, relax in the spacious barn loft with a homemade soup meal catered by The Blew Heeler of Pretty Prairie. You will be served either Brenda's Taco Soup or The Blew Heeler Special Tomato Soup and cinnamon rolls.

    [The Blew Heeler logo.jpg]

Sandhills Brewing of Hutchinson will be joining us with their craft beer for those that wish to partake.

    [8f4733fa-53a0-4715-a116-73cc9170674a.jpeg]

Enjoy the music of John Depew of Arlington post-ride in the loft.

    [John Depew Music Solo Photo.jpg]

We are raising money for our local non-profit, the Pretty Prairie Community Food Pantry, 501(c)(3), as they are in need of a new backup generator to prevent food loss in case of a power outage. You may donate to their cause in the merchandise section. We thank you so very much in advance for your generosity.

If you live a good distance from here and wish to arrive the night before, as to not have to drive too far the morning of the ride, there are options for lodging close by! We include a list of local places to stay in the confirmation email when you register, but you can contact us for that list, as well.

Below are the links to the Facebook and Instagram pages dedicated to the ride...updates and information will be posted there, but you, as a participant, will also receive important information regarding ride day by the email you provide us through registration.

The Gordon Pine Barrens 50 (GPB50) 2nd year went very well. We saw 200 riders from 10 States and 80+ different communities. The feedback for our riders gave the overall feeling of success. Many positive comments about the rustic, challenging, and motor vehicle free roadways and trails. The event saw a high level of competition and at the sametime provided a high quality “laid back feel.” As the GPB plans on maintaining an annual race, we desire to keep the “grass roots small town feel,” while making slight adjustments to our event to best meet the needs of our riders and community.

Our projection is to grow to our capacity of 300 riders by race day on Saturday, June 5, 2027. If you have any questions please see our website and contacts at GordonPineBarrens.com

    Keep pedaling!

Please note that due to the terrain, environmental conditions, and weather, the number of course signs we can place is limited. Participants should be prepared to navigate using the provided GPX files, maps, and course markings painted on the ground.

    Course markings:

    • Green arrows indicate the correct direction of travel.

    • Red X's indicate a wrong way or "Do Not Enter" section.

It is essential that you ride your own ride and do not simply follow the wheels in front of you. Pay attention to the course markings and navigation at all times.

NYCMTB and Freshkills Park are volunteer-supported organizations, and all event proceeds go directly toward creating more cycling and outdoor recreation programs for the public.

Volunteers are needed on event day. As a thank you, volunteers will have their event entry fee waived. Please ask us for details if you are interested in helping.

    [54116655294_d78ec687f4_o.jpg]

The course will contain many of the classic features from past editions, like the fast, flowing woods section, and the infamous run-up. As always, we try to keep it fresh so this year we've switched it up and have added a few new things. Expect to have to get off your bike and climb dry clay hills and pedal through a closed down to paper mill.

Refreshments and food will be provided by AlpineGlo farm again this year so spectators and racers can expect fresh yummy burritos all day.

    [Screenshot 2025-09-14 192215.jpg]

Racers will receive a discounted registration of $20 when they signup for a second race. This means no one has a reason to skip the single speed race.

It's that simple.

RIDER'S GUIDE - The guide will be sent out on Thursday after registration closes to all who have registered. The rider's guide will have the finalized routes and all the info you need to have a good time!

La Buckland, an epic gravel bike event, takes place in the heart of the Quebec Appalachians, offering an unforgettable challenge. The course, demanding and picturesque, is characterized by its positive elevation gain. “Le Gros Buck” boasts over 3000 meters over a distance of 146 kilometers, while “Le Petit Buck” features approximately 2000 meters over a distance of 100 kilometers.

Wondering which distance to register for? You can decide at the intersection of the “Gros Buck” and the “Petit Buck”. Do you want to take on the challenge of going longer or shorter and prefer to get back to the beer more quickly?

In 2025, we are introducing a new, more accessible 50 km distance designed to allow participants to explore the region and the charm of Buckland through gravel routes.

You'll have the chance to explore breathtaking sectors, each as unique as the other: traverse the majestic forest of Parc du Massif du Sud, explore the wind farm areas with their panoramic views, and follow the peaceful country lanes that cut across the picturesque fields of the region.

The 35-mile route features 5–6 farm stops, beginning and ending on O’Hara grounds in downtown Hamilton. Riders will travel a mix of paved and gravel roads with approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain.

Each rider will recieve a tshirt as part of the registration fee. Additional tshirts and merch available for purchase.

At each farm stop, participants will enjoy local food and beverages, and the ride concludes with a buffet-style dinner made with local ingredients at O’Hara—families and friends of riders are welcome.

We’re excited to be hosting a Gravel Weekend with Lifetime Grand Prix professional cyclist and Michigan native Paige Onweller. We’ve put together a series of events designed to be welcoming, informative, and fun whether you’re new to gravel or a seasoned rider.

Paige will be joined throughout the weekend by Maxine Bratus of fitmi in Ann Arbor, one of the country’s premier bike fitters, bringing a wealth of knowledge and insight to the clinic, rides, and discussions.

    Newer riders are absolutely welcome.

Helmets are required for all rides and clinic activities

    Schedule (subject to change)

    Saturday, July 18 – 9:00 AM

No-Drop Group Ride + Skills Clinic

River and Rail Farmers Market (The Armory)

    100 Armory Court, Jackson, MI

    • 9:00–9:30 AM – Introductions + Tire Pressure Q&A

    • 9:30 AM–12:00 PM – On-bike skills clinic focused on body position, cornering technique, and gaining confidence on your gravel bike in a safe and controlled environment.

We’ll also have a closed circuit to practice pace-line riding and group ride etiquette. Riders will learn how to safely signal, communicate, and ride together as a group.

After 60–90 minutes of skills work, we’ll head out on a 10-mile no-drop ride to put those pace-line skills into practice on the road.

    Topics We’ll Cover

    • Finding the right tire pressure for your setup

    • Body position for cornering and descending

    • Hand position

    • Foot position

    • Where to look

    • Building confidence on loose terrain such as gravel

    • How to safely ride in a pace line

    • Group ride communication and signaling

    • Flat repair items and basic bike tools (If you’re not sure how to use them, just ask — we’ll help!)

We’ll have pumps and tire gauges available on-site.

    Q&A + Meet & Greet

    Ogma Brewing Co.

    129 E. Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI 49201

After the clinic and ride, participants are invited to join Paige Onweller, Maxine Bratus, and others from the cycling community for a casual meet & greet at Ogma Brewing Co. in downtown Jackson.

This informal gathering is an opportunity to ask questions, connect with other riders, and continue the conversation about gravel riding, training, equipment, bike fit, and getting more women involved in cycling.

Whether you’re curious about race strategy, riding in the pro peloton at a Lifetime Grand Prix event, or dialing in tire choice and pressure, this is your chance to ask.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Ogma Brewing.

    Sunday, July 19 – 9:00 AM

    Irish Hills Gravel Group Rides

    Swain Memorial Park

    Brooklyn, Michigan

Sunday’s rides are designed to be fun, collaborative group experiences for a variety of riders and pace levels.

Our faster group will aim for a 17–20 mph average pace and will focus on riding smoothly and efficiently together rather than attacking or racing each other. Stronger riders may take longer pulls at the front to help support the group effort.

We're also working with our friend Nate Evans and his Rolling Toast Group Ride to offer a shorter distance (closer to 25 miles) and more approachable pace groups available, so riders who get dropped or simply want a more relaxed experience will still have a welcoming group to ride with.

If the front group gets away, no problem — settle in, enjoy the roads, and take in everything Southern Michigan gravel has to offer.

After the ride, riders are welcome to continue the conversation and grab brunch together at Atlas Restaurant & Bar in downtown Brooklyn. Food and beverages will be available for purchase individually.

    Women’s Participation Incentives

Any woman who attends the Irish Hills Gravel Weekend with Paige Onweller will receive:

    • A 50% off registration code for Irish Hills Gravel

    • Access to a monthly webinar series with Paige Onweller leading up to race day

These webinars will provide opportunities to ask questions about:

    • Equipment

    • Training

    • Nutrition

    • Race preparation

    • Gravel riding in general

Our goal is to create a supportive and welcoming environment that helps more women feel confident exploring gravel and off-road cycling.
