Blacklist LA started in 2013 with a radical idea: running could rewire how Los Angeles connects with itself. Founded on the belief that the city's sprawl is not a barrier but a canvas, the crew has grown to over 300 runners who show up Monday nights at 10pm without hesitation. Their philosophy is straightforward, running is a vehicle for community and cultural discovery. Every Monday night, they gather at Walt Disney Concert Hall and hit the streets toward the city's street art, turning late-night Los Angeles into a living gallery. Art, transit, and open roads are all fair game. For Blacklist LA, civic pride runs as deep as the miles.

In 2013, David Gómez and Elisa García asked a question that split the Los Angeles running scene: why did running clubs thrive only in wealthier neighborhoods? From their roots in Boyle Heights, East LA, they started the Boyle Heights Bridge Runners with one mission: create a space that belongs to their community. Every Wednesday night, runners gather at Mariachi Plaza and set out across the bridges that link their neighborhood to downtown, a route that has become iconic. What began as a small group has grown into a beacon for the city, drawing mechanics, teachers, artists, and activists into something deeper than miles. The crew stands for unity and inclusivity, proving that running can bridge not just geography but divides. Today, BHBR reminds LA that every neighborhood deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated on the streets.

Koreatown Run Club started in 2017 when its founder returned from Haiti with a vision. A work trip had shown him the transformative power of running for community, and back in Los Angeles, he and Michael decided to build something similar in Koreatown. What began as a mission to connect people through running has grown into a movement of around 400 members spanning diverse backgrounds across the city. The club's philosophy is simple yet profound: running is a vehicle for real connection. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, members gather at Wilshire and Oxford, with track sessions at LACC and Saturday morning runs rounding out the week. At Koreatown Run Club, every session is open and every pace is welcome, proving that the most meaningful friendships are the ones built on shared streets and shared commitment.
