On Saturday mornings at Holzmarkt, the smell of fresh espresso mingles with the rhythm of running feet. PALS coffee & run club Cologne was born in March 2025 from a simple conviction: running builds community, not competition. Founder vision combined Cologne's thriving coffee culture with the need for inclusive, pace-agnostic running space. Around 80 runners now show up weekly, a genuine mix of parents with strollers, students, professionals, and LGBTQ+ community members who've turned Saturday into a shared ritual. Three simultaneous pace groups launch at 10, 11, and 12 from Holzmarkt, each following its own rhythm but converging at the same destination: exceptional coffee, conversation, and the kind of friendships that outlast the season.

Run Squad CGN started in 2015 when Jasmina returned to Cologne after running with a crew abroad and realized her city was missing something vital. What began as a search for community became a movement. Today, roughly 70 runners strong, Run Squad CGN operates less like a traditional club and more like a tight circle of friends who genuinely know and show up for each other. They train hard, take running seriously, and refuse to take themselves too seriously. Three times a week, they own Cologne's streets, riverbanks, and track, discovering routes that make you fall in love with the city all over again.
