    This spring race (an island favorite) takes runners over a scenic 10K course with breathtaking views of beautiful Block Island. The race includes a little bit of everything: dirt roads with stone walls and rolling pastures, a winding track overlooking the Atlantic, and at mile 4 racers meet "the wall", a steep, double tiered, narrow climb. Every mile is different. This race has a loyal following. The race starts at 1:00 pm at the Block Island School. Questions ? Please call 401-466-3223 ask for Dave or Mac.     If the ferry is cancelled race day, then the race will be postponed until Sunday May 11th.

    THIS EVENT IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 500 WHO REGISTER.

    IT MAY SELL OUT!

    The Island's largest and most popular race begins with a 1/4 mile open water ocean swim; followed by 12 miles of biking over rolling hills with breathtaking views of the island. The last stretch is a 4 mile run on beautiful Crescent Beach.

    The race begins at 9:00 a.m.There is a 6:00am boat departing Point Judith race morning. If you aren't on the island Friday night, you will be required to take this boat. Please don't forget to buy a ticket for your bike. If you plan on being on island Friday night, make reservations now. If the ferry is cancelled race day, or there is severe weather; the race will be cancelled. Race fee is non-refundable.

    Roads are NOT closed during the bike portion.

    Helmets for the bike portion of the race are MANDATORY!!!!

    Anyone not wearing a helmet for ANY portion of the bike segment will be disqualified!!!

    There will be NO day of registration. The last day to register for this event will be Thursday July 31st online only!

    Packet pickup will be held from 5 to 6 Friday July 31st and on Saturday August 1st from 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at Fred Benson Town Beach

    Covid restrictions may be in place at the time of the race. All participants must follow the established Covid protocols that are in place at race time or they will not be allowed to participate

    This half marathon will begin and end at the Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion. The beginning of the race heads north in a flat stretch followed by a gentle uplift to some steeper hills and turns. Runners will see the Great Salt Pond, beach dunes, The North Lighthouse and much more.

    At the North Light,turn back and get ready for a challenging loop around the beautiful west side of the island. Lots of hills and turns. Rolling pastures, stone walls, farmhouses and the beautiful blue Atlantic are the backdrop.

    The last stretch takes you down Airport Hill and back to the Pavillion.

    This great event is held in remembrance of Island Legend Adrian Mitchell. This is a fun 5k run /walk fundraiser event to assist in the cost of the annual Block Island Ski Trip

    Come and enjoy an awesome event on Block Island. This 5K is timed perfectly so you can enjoy the holiday festivities on the island. You can run or walk whichever you choose. The start and finish line are at the Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion on Corn Neck Rd.

    The Race starts at 1:30 pm sharp. The start and finish are at Fred Benson Town Beach. Packet/T-shirt pickup starts at 12 noon. T-shirts are guaranteed ONLY to those who pre-register. Day of sign up is available for $50.00. This is a rain or shine event. In the event that the boats are cancelled, the race may be postponed to a later date.

    Women 1-2-3/w 40+ and W-4/5 will be combined into one race with one prize list if there are less than 10 riders registered in each race.

    Women who enter the Masters Women 40+ category will race with the W-P-1-2-3 category. All racers in the W-P-1-2-3/W 40+ event will be racing for one prize list.

    If there are less than 10 riders registered in a race, we will consider combining races.

    Day of Registration will be available on bikereg.

    If you show up day of to registration we will direct you to bikereg to complete your registration and to sign the USAC waiver.

    • Entry fee listed above does not include BikeReg fee. Standard BikeReg fees to be added to BikeReg users.

    • Pre-registration only on Bikereg, it will remain open. You must register thru Bikereg even day of. There is an additional surcharge of $10 on July 17th.

    • Enter a second race for $20.00, this only works when you register for an additional race on the same day in the same cart.

    • Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes 30 minutes before each race.

    • Promoter reserves the right to combine groups with less than 15 riders.

    • Non-licensed and novice riders are welcome: One-day licenses may be purchased online thru bikereg for $15 and are valid for a single day of racing. Onsite One-day licenses may only be purchased by Category 5 Men and Women, for use in races open to those categories. Experienced racer one day licenses will be available for $35. Experienced racers using one day licenses will be eligible for categories per USAC rules. BikeReg will prompt you to purchase one while you are checking out.

    • Course is a .9 mile flat circuit with smooth roads and nice corners.

    • USAC permit pending. All USAC one-day license and rules apply. Proper helmet required, no tank tops, no flat bars, and no mountain bikes.

    • Entry fee includes all USAC and park surcharges.

    • Directions: Ninigret Park is located on Rt. 1A just off Rt. 1 in Charlestown, RI. Follow Brown signs for Ninigret Park on Rt. 1.

    • ALL PRIZE MONEY NOT PICKED UP BY THE END OF THE DAY SHALL BE CONSIDERED A DONATION.

    • One-day licenses may be purchased onsite for $15 and are valid for a single day of racing. Onsite One-day licenses may only be purchased by Category 5 Men and Category 5 Women, for use in races open to those categories.

    • Entry fee includes the $5.99 USAC insurance surcharge.
