    Devil's Thumb Ranch is happy to present the first annual 5K/15K running race and walk that will start at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa. The course consists of gentle rolling hills and moderate elevation gain. Fun for all levels.

    Event Times:

    7:00am- Packet Pickup and Check In & Day-Of registration begins in Broad Axe Barn.

    9:00 am- Timed Run/Walk commences

    10:30am- Award Ceremony

    Course/Timing:

    -Water, Gatorade and fruit will be provided after the course.

    Prizes:

    -Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 overall finishers. The top finishers in age groups 5-8, 9-12 will also recieve awards!

    -Every participant will be entered in a drawing to win additional prizes.

    -Every participant will receive a commemorative glass!

    Parking:

    -There is parking available in the lower parking lot at Devil's Thumb Ranch, which is left of the main lodge.

    Back by popular demand, the 15th Annual Women Wheels and Wine brings together all levels of mountain bike enthusiasts who want to learn and/or grow their skills and knowledge baset. The day-long event includes professional instruction, a catered lunch at Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa, a wine and cheese bike maintenance clinic, along with a good dose of fun and female camaraderie!

    Devils Thumb is proud to announce the 15th Annual Women's Mountain Biking Clinic on Sunday, June 14th, 2026

    Women's Mountain Bike Clinic, from 8:30am-4pm

    Schedule:

    8:30 – 9:30 : Check-in at Registration area (Broad Axe Barn)

    Pick up bike rental at the Activity Center in Zach’s Mercantile.

    Participants will have access to the Locker Rooms all day

    9:30 – 9.45 : Registration and Pre-ride information

    10 - 12.00 Mountain Biking

    Break into groups based on ability levels. Skills, drills, and ride DTR trails

    12:15 – 1:30: Lunch in the Broad Axe Barn

    1:30 – 3:00: Afternoon options

    • Additional mountain bike ride time

    • Afternoon Yoga

    1:45pm - 2:45pm : Yoga at the Broad Axe Barn (yoga mats provided)

    3:00 – 4:00 : Bike maintenance clinic with wine and cheese social hour at the Broad Axe Barn

    Leave the pavement behind and hit 100% unpaved roads and trails in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains—just an hour from Denver. Whether you’re tackling the Half Marathon or joining in on the 5K, you’ll enjoy challenging terrain, fresh mountain air, and jaw-dropping views at every turn. All abilities are welcome, from first-time racers to seasoned trail runners.

    This is a race for the whole family! Bring your kids, friends, and even your four-legged companions—dogs are welcome on leash, so no one has to sit this one out. With trails designed for fun and adventure, everyone can find their pace!

    All proceeds from the Byers Peak Stampede directly benefit the Shining Stars Foundation. Annually, the Shining Stars Foundation offers over 65 transformative experiences. These programs are provided at absolutely no cost to the children and families we serve. As one of the few nonprofits nationally offering long-term, year-round services for children and families at any stage of their cancer journey—including treatment, relapse, or remission—the Shining Stars Foundation is making a life-changing impact.     This event meets the criteria set by the American Trail Running Association (ATRA) to ensure trail running events are safe, well-organized, and environmentally conscious.

    Half Marathon

    Half Marathon Course: Click here to view course map. The course takes place almost entirely on dirt roads and trails. The course begins at approximately 8,700 ft. and traveling above 9,500 ft. Aid stations will be on course complete with water, sports drink, and fruit. This race has a time limit - racers must be to mile 9 by 10:30AM. 8AM Start.

    Half Marathon Pricing:

    • $65/runner before January 1

    • $70/runner before April 1

    • $80/runner before July 1

    • $85/runner up to race day

    5K

    5K Course: Click here to view the race course. The course will take place on dirt roads near the High Country Stampede Rodeo grounds. An aid station will be available at the finish line. 9AM Start.
