    This 48th annual event features an 18K run known as one of the toughest races in Georgia and the South...maybe in North America!

    Hogpen Hillclimb Room Block

    “Great news! The Holiday Inn Express of Helen will be the host hotel for the 48^th Hogpen Hillclimb 18k and Cool River Tubing 5k. Pre-Race Registration and Packet Pick-up will be held in the Holiday Inn Express’ Conference Room and special room rates are available to all race participants who wish to arrive early and stay for the weekend – but rooms are limited so act now to take advantage of special room pricing.

    The Start/Finish line for the 5k and Start for the 18k will still begin at the River Pavilion –which is basically across the street from the Holiday Inn Express if you are unfamiliar with the area.

    So, book now and enjoy the weekend in Helen while supporting Habitat For Humanity of NE GA!”

    Event details and schedule

    PLEASE NOTE* Registration will be at the pavilion on the north side of Riverside Park (across the street from Big Daddy’s), in the event of inclement weather, registration may be moved the Helen FestHalle.

    Besides the 18K run that starts at 10:00 a.m. there is also a 5K loop race that will begin at the Festhalle in downtown Helen at 8:00 a.m. Other features of the races are: 1) baggage check-in for those in the 18K that want some warm clothes at the finish atop Hogpen Gap and 2) a quality race event shirt. No personal vehicles are allowed at he finish line area.

    All proceeds of the races go to fund operating expenses (i.e. building houses) for the Northeast Georgia Habitat for Humanity.

    Fees: 5K - $30 early, $35 regular, $20 students...18K - $60 early, $65 regular, $40 students...Combo (run 5K and 18K) - $80 early, $85 regular, $55 students.

From the countdown at the starting line to the final celebration at the finish, every step is part of an immersive glow experience.

    Event Schedule

    • 6:00 PM – Check-in and packet pickup opens

    • 6:45 PM – Pre-race announcements and warm-up

    • 7:00 PM – Mane Glow 5K Begins!

    Course Information

    The Mane Glow 5K will take participants on a scenic nighttime route throughout Piedmont University's campus. The course includes a variety of terrain, including:

    • Asphalt pathways and roads

    • Grass sections

    • A wooden bridge

    • Areas with rocks and/or stairs

    Please use caution throughout the course, especially in areas with uneven terrain.

    Arrival Information

    Participants should arrive at least one hour before the race begins (6:00 PM) to allow enough time for parking, completing check-in, and preparing for the start of the race.

    Parking

    Free parking is available in:

    • Mize Parking Lot

    • Commons Parking Lot

    Please follow event signage and volunteer directions upon arrival.

    Check-In, Waivers & Identification

    • All required waivers must be completed before checking in.

    • Participants should have a valid photo ID available during check-in if requested.

    • Race materials will only be distributed after all registration requirements have been completed.

    Don't Forget!

    • Wear white or neon-colored clothing to get the full glow effect under the black lights.

    • Comfortable running or walking shoes are recommended.

    • Glow powder is non-toxic and washable, but participants may wish to avoid wearing clothing they do not want exposed to colored powder.

    • This event is open to both runners and walkers. Participants of all fitness levels are encouraged to join.

    • Stay after the race for music, photos, and a glowing finish line celebration!

    The Currahee Challenge takes place from the base of Currahee Mountain on the Colonel Robert Sink Trail, the training site of the 501st, 506th, 511th and 517th Parachute Infantry Regiments seen in Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan & The Dirty Dozen. Come and join us for an excellent and challenging 5K run/walk or 10K hill run. PLEASE NOTE: the finish line will remain open until 11:30am.

    Come to the historic town square in Toccoa and run the quiet streets while raising funds for a drug free Stephens County. This year we are proud to be part of the AAA Health Series, Black Bag Race Series, and Clover Glove Series. This event will have a Virtual Option if you prefer to run at home. Race times may be submitted anytime from 11/1/26 to noon of 11/7/26 to [email protected] to receive points.

    The race will begin and end on Alexander Street at City Hall. Start time for the event is 9:00 am sharp. Race day registration is available but shirts are not guaranteed.
