Join us for the 18th Annual BUFFALO STAMPEDE 5K Race & 1 Mile Fun Run designed for runners of ALL ages! These Chrono timed races use disposable bib tags on USATF Certified courses benefitting the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. All Sports Timing is conducting the race and race results will be available at www.allsportstiming.com.

The 5K course is gently rolling, scenic, relatively flat, fast, and takes you through open country and past neighborhoods and parks. It has a downhill finish, and offers you a great chance for a PR and a tune-up for marathons. Courses are out and back and offer a safe route well marked by Area Wide Protective. Two Cheer Stations will be along the route to encourage you. The first 2 cheer stations to sign up will be chosen and receive a cash prize, free t-shirts and snacks! The Course closes at 9am. A course map is available on our website. https://www.brazosvalleymuseum.org/buffalo-stampede

This is a beautiful course, well organized safe runs with a water stop, great running music, cool T-shirts for all, fabulous 5K Race custom trophies and metals in all age groups, and finisher medals for both races. There will also be delicious post-race refreshments. Meet our celebrity starter and look for our Bison mascot! AFTER the race, you and your family and friends can enjoy Boonville Days, a heritage festival with booths of frontier skills, art, and music. Festive Boonville Days activities are from 9-4 inside and outside the Museum and are free to runners and their families.

    Registration is Live!

We are excited to be hosting year 4 of a sprint triathlon in the Bryan/College Station area benefiting the local nonprofit First Win in honor of John C. Webb. For more information about The Active Texan and the triathlon, visit theactivetexan.com.

The race will consist of a 400m swim, 14 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run at Lake Walk and in the surrounding Traditions neighborhood in Bryan, Texas. This will be a great race for both seasoned triathletes and those looking to complete their first multisport race.

We also have a relay option for those who want to compete, but do not (or feel they can not) complete all 3 events. Each member on the team of 3 must sign up individually, enter their team name, and select the event they will complete for the race.

This will be a USAT sanctioned race. As such, all participants are required to be USAT members in order to participate. USAT offers a single day membership or if you would like to research their annual options you may do so here. All annual members will be required to provide proof of membership prior to racing.

The first 10 participants to make a $75 or greater donation to First Win during registration will receive expedited packet pick up, reserved parking on race morning, and priority transition placement.

All registrations are final and are non-transferable and non-refundable.

    FAQs:

Will I be able to wear a wetsuit for the race? - At this time we do not expect the water temperature to be low enough to permit wetsuit use. The water temperature will be communicated prior to race day.

When does the race start? - BOTH RACES start Sunday, October 11th, at 8am. We will utilize a self seeding rolling start. Athletes will enter the water off a floating pier, and entering feet first is strongly recommended.

Can I check my bike in the night before? - Transition will open the morning of the race, and there will be NO OVERNIGHT BIKE STORAGE for this event. Only participating athletes will be allowed to access the transition area.
