The Color Run is the happiest, most colorful 5K on the planet. At The Color Run, it’s not about how fast you go or how far you’ve trained—it’s about having the best day ever. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or someone who’s never done a race before, you’re invited. Walk it, jog it, dance your way through—it’s all about fun, laughter, and making unforgettable memories.
This 5K experience is designed for everyone, from families and friend groups to first-timers just looking to try something new. Along the course, you’ll pass through vibrant color zones where you’ll be doused in bursts of colored powder, turning you into a moving canvas of fun. By the time you cross the finish line, you’ll be head-to-toe in color and smiling the whole way through—we promise.
The Color Run keeps things simple:

Start clean. Wear white (the whiter, the better!) so you can show off every splash of color along the way.

Get colorful. At each kilometer, you’ll run, walk, or dance through color zones filled with bright, food-grade colored powder—by the finish, you’ll be completely transformed.

Celebrate big. After you cross the finish line, the fun continues at the Finish Festival—an epic dance party with music, color throws, and high-energy vibes you won’t want to miss.
From start to finish, The Color Run is less about competition and more about connection, joy, and pure fun. It’s not just a run—it’s a full-on color experience you’ll be talking about long after the last color flies.

PACKET PICK-UP DATE AND TIME WILL BE EMAILED BEFORE THE EVENT.
*Please bring a photo ID to pick up your race packet. There is a $5.00 fee to pick up your packet on race day. This fee was instituted to encourage people to attend pre-packet pickup so we can minimize lines and wait times on race day. Yes, we do allow people to pick up packets for other people (team member, family, friends). As long as their waiver has been signed online (generally done during registration) you will just need to present their confirmation email. That way, we know you have permission to get your friends’ stuff!
PRE-ORDER MERCHANDISE
All items that have been pre-ordered MUST be picked up by start time on race day or at packet pickup. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to mail items to you after race day any items that have not been claimed will be forfeited and donated.
RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP
If you are unable to pick up your race packet and/or register on either of the packet pickup dates, you will be able to do so on race day. However there is a same day race check in fee of $5 (Cash Only) per registration.
Please arrive early to have ample time to park and line up at the start line. Don’t stress out if you are stuck in traffic. We will leave the start line open for everyone to be able to run the race.
PARKING
There is up to a $20 fee (cash only) for parking.
NO BAG CHECK
(no lockers, etc.)
Please note that there is NO bag check. So leave your valuables in the car or take what you want with you!
STARTING LINE
We will be releasing waves of runners every 2-5 minutes at the starting line at the events start time.
RACE BIB
Be sure to attach your race bib to the front of your shirt with the safety pins provided. You will NOT be allowed on the course without a race bib.
SPECTATORS
There will be no charge for spectators. An open area for spectator viewing will be available on both sides of the start/finish line. Be sure to carpool!
WATER STATIONS
There will be a water station on the course and at the finish line.
AFTER RACE PARTY
Please stay after the race for an amazing Color Run After Party! Music, color, and the most fun you have ever had at a 5k.

Welcome to the 3rd annual running of PhoMo 50K.Shadow Rock Church– 12861 N 8th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029Saturday Dec.12,2026 5:00 AM DescriptionThe course will NOT be marked, but participants will have GPX coordinates available to upload on their watch or smart phone. The designated trails in the Phoenix Mountain Preservers are generally well marked at each junction.Start time will be 7:00 a.m. and head lamp may be needed for the first half hour.The race will start and end at the Shadow Rock Church parking lot. Free parking at the church and a porta potty will available.This event is limited to 50 runners and crew and pacers are allowed at each accessible trailhead.We plan on having training runs leading up to the race. Please keep an eye out for those training runs on our Strava group pageWe also plan to have packet pick up and shake out run on Dec 10 at a location and time TBD. All participants will receive a commemorative PhoMo hat and other fun swag. Your race credit from this year's Skull Krusher will not be transferable CourseThe course will take you throughout the scenic Phoenix Mountain Preserves, starting and finishing at the base of Shaw Butte at Shadow Rock Church. The trails are rocky and often run-on technical terrain. About 5,500+ feet of elevation gain. There is very minimal shade, and most of the time you will be exposed with zero shade, so be prepared if the weather is warm Plan on aid stations at the top parking lot of Piestewa Peak TH and Dreamy Draw TH ramada area for both the out and back section. There will be water fountain and restrooms at these major trailheads: Dreamy Draw Trailhead, North Mountain Visitor Center and Piestewa Peak Dr. Other than that, you should carry all your calories and water at ALL times with you. Due to the distance between water and aid, it is recommended that you run with a hydration vest with ample amount of hydration. You are allowed crew access at the trailhead listed above and PACERS are allowed starting from Piestewa Peak TH.ResultsRunners will be manually timed and will need to check in with an aid station volunteer at Dreamy Draw both times.Finish LineTop male and female winner will be presented a free entry into Old Pueblo 50 miler 2027

Course Summary Celebrating 15 years, the Cave Creek Thriller plays host to 4 different distances with the 50K and 24K options exploring the Maricopa Trail in point-to-point races before finishing inside Cave Creek Regional Park. The 11K and 5K distances stay entirely within Cave Creek Regional Park on hilly and pristine mountain trails. Portions of the trail are steep, rocky, and entirely exposed to the sun with great views of the expansive Sonoran Desert.The 50K & 24K registration includes your shuttle bus ticket to the start line. Series Pass! This is the first race of the Desert Runner Trail Series hosted by Aravaipa Running. You can register for the entire series at a discounted rate HERE.
