Herndon Parks and Recreation is hosting the annual Turkey Trot 5K at the Herndon Community Center. The race will begin at 4:00pm on November 21. Packet pick-up and race day registration ($45 for adults 21 & up, $30 for youth 20 & under) will run from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday, November 20. Packet pick-up and race day registration ($45 for adults 21 & up, $30 for youth 20 & under) will also run from 1:30-3:30pm on Saturday, November 21.
Long sleeve race T-shirts guaranteed to the first 450 pre-registered runners. T-shirts must be picked up the day of the race. Shirts will not be available after race day.
Prizes to 1st and 2nd place winners in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. A top prize including a turkey will be given to the overall male and female winners.
Registered runners 21+ years old will receive a token beer following the completion of the race courtesy of Aslin Beer Company.
Online registration is available at herndon-va.gov and active.com and ends at 12:00pm on Friday, November 20.
Pre-registration:
Adults - (Age 21 & Over) $40 and a can of food for donation
Youth - (Age 20 & Under) $25 and a can of food for donation

Adults - (Age 21 & Over) $45 and a can of food for donation
Youth - (Age 20 & Under) $30 and a can of food for donation
**Please note that race day registration prices apply to both the Friday and Saturday packet pick up/registration times.
All food will be donated to LINK.
Strollers, bikes and dogs are not permitted in the race.
All runners must finish 5K in 45 minutes.
Event details and schedule
Please arrive early as our parking lot fills at the Herndon Community Center (814 Ferndale Avenue, Herndon, VA 20170). The course is a mixture of trail and street running so please wear appropirate footwear.

Since 1984, the Reston Triathlon has been a staple in our community. It opens with a 1500-meter open water swim in Lake Audubon, followed by a 25-mile bike ride and a 10K run on local paths. The Olympic distance event has challenged athletes from around the country and has affectionately been called the Reston Triathlon World Championship.
During the pandemic, the previous board worked tirelessly to keep the tradition alive. Unfortunately, in 2021, they announced they could no longer financially or logically sustain the Reston Triathlon. CORE Foundation, working closely with the previous board, is thrilled to revive the event and continue the legacy. The Reston Triathlon made its comeback debut on September 10, 2023! This year's race date is September 28, 2025.
CORE Foundation is grateful for the loyal athletes and local community. They received overwhelming support while pursuing the opportunity to restore this community event.

MCC's members assist with its activities and meet at least once a year to elect directors. Located in Reston, VA, this suburban park has a beautiful lake, huge open fields, pavilions, and an awesome trail network. Our course is almost entirely singletrack except for the prologue. There is about 300 feet of elevation change on the 5 mile course. While not overly technical, there are some rocks and roots to negotiate along most of the course.
