Lace up your shoes, put on your cape, and join us for the CASA SuperHero 5K & 10K, a fun and meaningful race benefiting Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Every step you take helps give a voice to children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are navigating the child welfare system.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or a family looking for a fun community event, this race is for you. We encourage teams, runners, walkers and families with strollers (dogs too) to dress up as their favorite superheroes while competing in a fun, family friendly environment! Costumes are encouraged—because our kids deserve heroes in every form!
💙 About CASA:
CASA volunteers are trained community members appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. Funds raised support volunteer recruitment, training, and ongoing advocacy, ensuring that every child has a consistent, caring adult standing up for them in court and in life.
🏃♀️ Race Options:
5K Run/Walk – Perfect for all ages and abilities
10K Run – For runners ready to take their heroism to the next level
-Both courses are clearly marked, supported by volunteers, and designed to be safe, scenic, and family-friendly.
-The racecourse starts and finishes at the base of the Wheeling Creek Rail Trail. This is an out and back, on a flat, paved trail.
-The 10k course will cross the intersection at Washington Ave. Bridge. This is the only place where traffic will be encountered on the course.

April is Autism Awareness month. This run / walk is to bring awareness to the many people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and raise money for supports and sensory enhancements for self-contained, autism classes in Ohio County Schools.
The race begins at 5:30 PM on Friday, April 24th 2026.
*Same day registration begins at 4:00PM on race day.
*This is an out and back 5k beginning and ending at Wheeling Middle School in Wheeling, WV.
*Top 5 male and female in both runner and walker divisions will receive an award.
*$30 race fee for early registration and guaranteed shirt when registration is completed by April 8th 2025.
*Same day and late registration will be $35 with t-shirts at a first come first served basis.
There will be music, food and drinks for all participants. The race will be chip timed by Miles of Smiles Timing Service.
This year we are adding a virtual option with a $35 registration fee. We will ship your shirt to you. No awards or official timing for the virtual option.

The 48th annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Run and Walk will be on Saturday, May 23. This challenging course is well known for its changes in elevation. The Half Marathon Run and Walk will have prize categories (for male and female) for the Open division. Race towels, bottled water and fresh fruit will be available for participants. Participants will receive one food voucher. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a shirt. The race committee has determined that official race medals will be given to each finisher of the 48th annual Ogden Newspapers Half Marathon Classic Run and Walk. The medals will be handed out as the participants cross the finish line.

The Ohio Valley Trail Partners presents the 19th annual tour of the Wheeling Heritage Trail on Sunday, May 24th. The cycling festivities is held at the Heritage Port in Wheeling, 1201 Water Street, Wheeling, WV 26003. T-Shirts are an extra $15 for sizes Small to 2X-Large.

The 100km (62 miles) ride will leave the Heritage trail for a hilly loop on country roads with a stop at Bethany College. It is a challenging ride with great SAG support. Snack and water stops will keep riders hydrated on both the 50km and 100km rides. Every participant is required to wear a helmet. Entrants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. We ride rain or shine! All riders will enjoy a post ride lunch (included with registration cost) with live entertainment as the Tough As Nails Event will begin at 12 noon on Sunday.
The 2025 Wheeling Heritage Trail Tour is made possible by our generous sponsors and by thousands of volunteer hours by members of the Ohio Valley Trail Partners and residents of the Ohio Valley. Money raised by this event supports expansion and care for the Wheeling Heritage Trail, trail projects, and trail equipment and continued advocacy for bike/pedestrian connections in our local community. The Tough as Nails Urban Challenge presented by The Health Plan is a 20+ obstacle, 5+ mile challenge will push participants to the limit downtown in the city of Wheeling, WV on Sunday, May 24, 2026. This is a true all-round physical and mental test for 16 years or older runners, walkers, weightlifters, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone in between.
Across more than six miles of body-breaking urban terrain you will traverse abandon cars, scale flood walls, climb your way over obstacles and claw your way up impossible inclines, all on your way to a triumphant finish! After working to destroy your body, we are partying with family and friends that includes food, drinks and live music.

This is a sensory friendly, inclusive, untimed, FUN RUN! Anyone that completes the entire course will receive an award. There will be several color stations throwing bright powder, a foam station, and bubble stations! This year is our 21st year anniversary celebration and we will be throwing Augusta Levy a birthday party prior to the race from 3-5 PM. We will have inflatables, balloon animals, face painting, music, and more!
The race itself begins at 5 PM. The route will begin at the waterfront and cut onto the trail to avoid any roadwork and construction. All participants that pre-register by June 1st will receive a shirt, sunglasses, and an Augusta Levy Autism Ambassador sticker. Pre-registration stays open online until June 19th, but T-shirts will not be available after the May 31 deadline. Registration will be accepted day of, but t-shirts will not be available. We are so excited for another year of the Spectrum of Color 5K Fun Run, benefitting the Shawn Ramsay Autism Scholarship, with a 21st year birthday celebration included!

The 27th Auggie's 5K Run & Walk benefits the Ohio County Animal Shelter. Runners and walkers start at Warwood Middle School and run/walk on Wheeling's Heritage Trail adjacent to the Ohio River, with runners going north, and walkers going south. Both events finish on Viking Drive.
