The fourth annual Charley Clayton Memorial Peep Festival will be held April 11 at Fairmont State University. It is our mission to honor the life and legacy of Charley through an annual celebration highlighting individuality, self-expression, and inclusion through a colorful and sweet springtime celebration.
On April 10, we will host the Fairmont Memorial Walk. The one-mile walk will kick off the 2026 Charley Clayton Memorial Peep Festival and was created to provide a meaningful community event to honor and remember loved ones and celebrate their lives. The registration fee includes a t-shirt (deadline March 21) and benefits our annual scholarship for a Marion County senior.

Get ready to hit the trail for a fun and family-friendly event! The Trail Day 5K Run & Walk takes place on Saturday, May 2nd, in celebration of National Celebrate Trails Day at the stunning Prickett’s Fort State Park along the MCPARC rail trail. Starting at 9 AM, the scenic course will take runners and walkers towards the Meredith Tunnel, offering a beautiful and enjoyable experience for all.
This exciting event is hosted by the Fairmont State University Cycling Club to support their activities and is conducted in partnership with Marion County Parks and Recreation. Plus, it’s a part of the 2026 Marion County Race Series—so don’t miss your chance to be part of something special!

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and join us for the newest race in the Marion County Race Series! On October 3rd, we're hitting the streets of East Side Fairmont, WV, for a fun run that'll have you feeling good from start to finish. It's all about supporting the amazing work of Osiris Shriners!
Osiris Shriners was founded over a century ago in Wheeling, WV, and supports the northern region of West Virginia. Osiris Shriners promote friendship and brotherhood and support the world’s greatest philanthropy - Shriners Children's. This course is fast, but don't be fooled—it's challenging enough to give you a great workout! We'll have a water stop around mile 2 to keep you hydrated and energized. Not a runner? No problem! We've got a 1-mile walk option so everyone can join in the fun and support a great cause.
Can't make it to Fairmont? That's okay, too! Just sign up for the virtual option!
All participants will receive a participation medal, registrants prior to September 15th will receive a tee shirt as well, and top-3 in-person race participants will receive medals (Categories: Overall Male and Female; Overall 15 and Under).
Course Description:
The course will begin at the tunnel trail entrance and immediately turn right onto Morgantown Avenue with approximately 80 feet of elevation gain within the first half mile. It will then turn right onto Sunset Boulevard and immediately right again onto Speedway Avenue. After approximately 1 mile, runners will turn right onto East Park Avenue and right again onto Indiana Avenue by Price Cutters. Following Indiana Avenue until the end, you will make your last turn back onto Morgantown Avenue with a breezy 80 foot elevation decline to the finish line.
Our start and finish is located near the MCPARC Meredith Tunnel trailhead in Fairmont (NOT PRICKETTS FORT!) You will access parking and registration near the intersection of Morgantown Avenue and Winfield Street. Use 1801 Morgantown Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554 to navigate to our event.
