Join us as we continue to stand beside and support our loved one, Stef Dorner, in her ongoing fight against ocular melanoma. Stef was first diagnosed in March of 2020. In early 2025, her diagnosis progressed to stage 4. This past year brought significant challenges. After five aggressive rounds of Hepzato to treat liver metastasis, Stef also underwent radiation to address metastasis in her lung.
As we head into 2026, we gather with Hope in Sight. Stef’s most recent scans show stable tumors with no new growth, a milestone we were deeply thankful for. She continues to fight and is hopeful for a cure.
Together, we will walk, gather, and raise awareness for this extremely rare eye cancer, diagnosed in only about 7,000 adults worldwide each year. We are proud to partner with A Cure In Sight to help accelerate research toward a cure and to provide resources and support for those impacted by this rare disease.

The run begins at Veteran's Park and provides a delightful tour of Milwaukee’s lakefront. Candy laden aid stations line the course to fuel your run and satisfy your sweet tooth, and MONSTER MILE Markers along the way. Each runner/volunteer receives an event t-shirt (Runners who register after Oct 18th ARE NOT guaranteed a shirt), traditional post-race snacks, spooky music (what does that even mean?), and enough candy to make a dentist cringe! We ordered great weather, but just in case, we'll have a heated tent for the post race shenanigans. Come out and celebrate a successful season of running!

A winter tradition returns as the Milwaukee County Zoo commemorates the annual Samson Stomp.
Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to join in this popular event, honoring one of the Zoo’s most famous and beloved residents, Samson, the silverback gorilla (1950-1981). Money raised from the event supports all the animals in the Zoo’s population.
Entry fees include a long-sleeved T-shirt, Zoo admission, beverage, snack, and parking.
After the event, participants are invited to enjoy the remainder of the day at the Zoo.
The race will be held rain or shine, snow or cold; however, the Milwaukee County Zoo reserves the right to cancel due to severe weather or dangerous, unforeseen race conditions. No refunds will be given.
The 5K race is officially timed; results will be publicly available in person and online after the race. All races take place on public walkways throughout the Zoo. Due to safety concerns, no strollers, in-line skates, or similar devices permitted.
During the event, take part in our mission of conservation by donating your old handheld electronics — cell phones, tablets and e-readers, smart watches, earbuds, digital cameras, digital music players, wearable fitness trackers, handheld gaming systems, and GPS devices — at the Zoo for recycling. The drop-off area is located in the Zoo’s U.S. Bank Gathering Place.
Recycling handheld electronics reduces the demand for coltan, a mineral extracted from the forests of Congo, home to critically endangered lowland gorillas. The coltan mining business has led to a dramatic reduction of the gorillas’ natural habitat.

Buena Tierra Run Club emerged from a simple revelation. After co-founder Patrick ran through Chicago's Latino Pilsen neighborhood, he knew Milwaukee needed a space where Latino runners could gather, celebrate, and reshape the health narrative in their community. Founded in November 2023, what started with seven people at a first run has grown into a movement of more than 250 runners. Now they gather regularly at Milwaukee's Zócalo Food Park, building a community bound by movement, pride, and the spirit of the Southside. Every run is free and open to all, a chance to inspire the next generation and rep Milwaukee in a way that truly speaks to you.
