Our beloved free marathon build up program for the Lakefront Marathon (or similarly timed Fall marathons/half marathons) is the result of a great team of volunteers. The runs start at 6 miles and build up over 12-13 weeks to 22 miles increasing by just two miles per week. Volunteers are needed to set up and staff aid stations for program participants - consider signing up to help!

Inspired by Patrick’s experience running through Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, the group was formed to create a Latino-centered space in Milwaukee’s Southside where running encourages physical and mental well-being. Meeting weekly, their runs connect participants to local streets and landmarks that celebrate Latino heritage and Milwaukee’s diverse urban landscape. Open to everyone but focused on Latino identity, Buena Tierra promotes inclusive, laid-back runs that foster camaraderie and support beyond just the pavement.
