Chapter 29, Saturday February 14th, 2026 will once again be a POINT-to-POINT race starting in Washburn, WI and ending in Ashland, WI. Participants MUST check in/register on race day at the FINISH LINE WINTER CARNIVAL TENT in Ashland, WI at the Ashland Marina.
Midwest’s most unique winter event, open to skiers and snowshoers of all ages and ability levels. The 10 kilometer course, which is groomed for both classic-style and skate skiing, and follows a route not on land, but over the frozen surface of Lake Superior, the world’s largest lake. The event is held at night, and the course is lit by the stars above and up to 1,000 candles in ice luminaries that line the entire route.
RACE DAY INFORMATION: Every participant, even if you registered online, MUST pick up their race bib/timing chip from the ASHLAND MARINA between the hours of 10am and 5:30pm.
Participants will then use our shuttles that run from 1pm - 5:30pm to travel to West End Park in Washburn for the Start Line Party hosted by the City of Washburn.
Parking is limited at the start line, you must park in Ashland, and use our shuttles or have a friend or family member drop you off in Washburn.
The race starts promptly at 6:00pm, do not wait for the last shuttle or you will miss the start!

Thank you for racing Mudrutters! We're a small event held on the locally owned and operated Farm Road Trails. We've been holding this race on Bay Days weekend in Ashland, WI at Farm Road Trails since 2016, but the race has existed in various iterations since the early 1990's. We're thrilled to keep this race going.

Info You Need to Register
There are 3 categories based on length/difficulty. Please sign up for the appropriate race length/challenge based on your own ability. Changes to your chosen race category may be made at the day-of registration table if necessary. Trophies will be given based on mens/womens and race length.
Registration is $25 per racer online, or $30 per racer on the day of the race, paid by cash or check to Aaron Swanson.

Tender Mudder - A beginner's course: easier course at approximately 7 miles. Estimated first finisher at 30 minutes.

Tough Mudder- Intermediate course: a course for experienced mountain bikers, approximately 13 miles. Estimated first finisher at 60 minutes.

Insane Mudder - A challenging course: a real technical and difficult challenge for those ready to push themselves, approximately 17 miles. Those extra 4 miles will be a doozy! Estimated first finisher at 90 minutes.
E-Bikes
E-bikes are welcome. They must be disclosed and will compete in their own category.
Checking In
Check in, registration, and race start are all in the parking lot at Summit/Salem Church, 400 Summit/Salem Drive, Ashland, WI. We have access to indoor bathroom facilities and water fountains.
Please check in at the registration table from 8:30 to 9:30 before the race to receive your number, confirm your race/category, and sign the waiver.

Please note: there will not be a food vendor at the race this year. Main Street will be filled with food vendors and delicious restaurant options for when the race is done!

GIRLS still just wanna have FUN!! And we are doing it here in Ashland, WI, with a race for every chick!!
On Saturday, September 12th, get your girlfriends together and come to Ashland dressed in your blingest best and walk, run, skip or jump in the annual Chick-uamegon 1-mile/5K & 10K walk/run. Race starts at 10am!!
This year we have moved the event to an earlier date hoping for warmer weather and paired it with the Muralfest, Car Show and Cornhole Tournament! A day packed with FUN!
This race is truly a FUN RUN!
Prizes will be given away to;
3 places for Blingest or Best Costume ( $50/$25/$25 in Chamber Dollars);
Best Dressed Volunteer ($20);
