Are you a running enthusiast dreaming of new adventures? Then don't hesitate any longer, lace up your sneakers and join the Shelburne Half Marathon 🏃♂️ Located in the heart of Chittenden County in the magnificent state of Vermont, USA, this event is a true call to adventure 🌲
Beginning and ending at Shelburne Field House, the half marathon is a loop course in picturesque Shelburne, Vermont. You’ll be running on a combination of dirt and back roads including a portion on the Meach Cove property, running past Shelburne Farms, and a stretch of Harbor Road with beautiful views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The 5K and 10K courses are both out-and-back courses that run along Harbor Road and back. The 5K is relatively flat, whereas the 10K has a couple of hills.
This is definitely one of our racers' favorite races. There are no huge hills and the scenery is beautiful. Beginning and ending at picturesque Shelburne Beach, you will run along dirt, gravel and paved roads featuring scenic views of Vermont countryside and rural farmland. Run past Charlotte Beach situated on beautiful Lake Champlain just before entering the Holmes Creek Covered Bridge for the first time. The course continues on quiet, rolling hills before arriving at the turnaround. The half marathon runs through the covered bridge twice. The 5K and 10K turn around before reaching the bridge (although it's not that far beyond the 10K turnaround, so if you want to run through it, it's not going to add that much to your finish time for 10K runners).
Course
Certified (VT13007JK) 10K out and back through Shelburne and Charlotte. This fast course is a mix of dirt and paved roads and has pleasant scenery - apple orchards, views along Lake Champlain, and the covered bridge at the turn around point. The start and finish is at Shelburne beach and proceeds along Bostwick, Orchard, and Lake roads. Water stops are at approximately 2 and 4 miles.
