Why We Run: The Need for Mental Health Awareness

In our fast-paced world, mental health is a critical component of overall well-beingβ€”yet, it is often overlooked or stigmatized. Mental health challenges affect individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and communities. By participating in this 5K Run/Walk, you are helping to shatter the stigma and foster a culture of openness, compassion, and support.

We run to remind everyone that it's okay not to be okay, and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Every step you take helps to normalize conversations around anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions, ensuring that no one in our community feels alone in their struggle.

Make Your Miles Matter: Benefitting Our Community

Your participation directly transforms into vital resources for our local community's mental wellness. All proceeds from the Move for Mental Health 5K will benefit:

The Mental Health Association of Fauquier: This incredible organization works to promote mental wellness and increase access to vital mental health services, education, and support in our region. Your funds will help support their grassroots advocacy, prevention programs, and community resource guides.

Highland School Wellness Program for Staff and Students: Investing in the wellness of our students and the dedicated school staff is paramount. These funds will support programs designed to equip students and educators with tools for emotional resilience, stress management, and healthy relationships. By investing in these programs, Highland is creating a supportive, healthy learning and working environment, cementing its position as a regional leader in school health and wellness.

Lace up your shoes, breathe in the fresh air, and take a tangible step towards creating a healthier, more supportive community for all. Register today and be a champion for mental wellness!
