US Road Running
If you’ve done a traditional 5K, you know they can be a bit lackluster. But the BUBBLE RUN™ is like running through Willy Wonkas’ factory. Clad in white t-shirts, adults, kids and strollers run, walk, dance and play across up to 3 miles of absolute fun! Waves start every 3-5 minutes. Participants will run through the Foam Bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe!
Bubble-teers will also be there to help make sure you get your share of the frothy goodness. Each one of the Foam Bogs is represented by different colored foam. So what if you should accidentally “taste the whimsey?” They don’t taste as great as they are fun, but not to worry. The foam is 100% safe.
Event details and schedule
Please plan on arriving 30-45 minutes prior to your wave start to give yourself plenty of time to park, get your Bubble RUN™ swag, check in if needed, and to get situated.
Please be prompt for your Heat.
Once your heat has started, (the heat is the time you registered for) small waves will be released every 60-90 seconds. Your physical start time is based on a first come-first serve basis, so naturally you will start earlier if you enter the start chute earlier. The last wave within your heat will go out 30 minutes after your scheduled heat (i.e., if your registered heat is for 8AM, the last wave in your heat will leave at 8:30AM).
Bring some extra cash for parking and SWAG!
After you park, bring some extra cash! You'll want to check out our super sweet Bubble RUN store for t-shirts, tutus, and more!
There may be a parking charge of up to $20 for the event that is handled by the venue. With THOUSANDS of smiles present on race day, please have exact change and please don't cut your time too short before the race starts. Cram as many bubblers (legally) into your car to save some cash money money!

Race Format:
The TPT races are held on a course of .50 - .75 miles in lap distance with 60 - 75 feet of elevation gain each lap.
Riders can initiate laps up until clock hits 00:00.
Lap counts are estimated based on first lap time.
Podiums based on most laps, lowest time.
Riders will cover around 4-6 laps during the 17-22-minute duration of their heat.
USAC points are scored for EACH race.
The Course.
We are NOT racing on the Dogwood trails.
Each week's course is a custom, hand-built track right by the pavilion next to Barker Field.
This course is VERY spectator friendly - bring the crew and your best heckle game.
And yes - it changes every week to keep it spicy. Stay sharp.
Course Drops.
We design each course the week of the race.
Registered racers will receive course drops via email.
The Vibe:
Expect elbows-out racing. Bring your lungs, bring your legs, and maybe bring an ice pack for that ego (short track has a way of finding you).
It’s fast. It’s ridiculous. It’s fun.
USAC Sanctioning and Points:
ONLY USAC annual license holders will receive points!
Annual license holders ranked in order of finish for reporting.
Forget to enter your USAC ID at registration = NO POINTS.
ALL 3 races are USAC XCC qualifying opportunities for Nationals.
ALL 3 races allow you to earn USAC points for XCC Nationals.
Timing.
The TPT is electronically timed. Your bib plate is your RFID timing chip and should be mounted securely to your bars (top of plate) and the bottom of the plate should be mounted to cables, or in a way that makes the number clearly visible from the front of the bike.
If you bend the plate, try to make it aero, don’t have it secured properly, or alter it in any way, we will NOT get a read. And that will mean all your hard work was for nuthin’ – so please don’t. Come find us if you have any questions on race day. Well also be checking on you.
Other.
Volunteers - We REALLY need volunteers to make this event happen and start on time.
5:00 PM (or sooner): we start marking the course
7:45 PM: course teardown
Please email [email protected] if you can help or show up on race day.
RVA Racing brings you bike racing, built by bike racers - We're grassroots, but professionally savage.

The RVA Mile (aka Regency Mile), along with the 5 & Under 400m Express Run, has held the record for the largest timed youth road race in Richmond for 15 years! With both in-person and virtual race options, an adult race, condensed start times, and a fall festival, this event provides a family-friendly day of racing.
The course is entirely closed to traffic and encircles Regency Square Mall. This year, we have a kid’s mile, parent’s mile, and a 400m race for ages 5 & under. After the race, make sure to stick around and enjoy our Fall Festival complete with candy, games, activities from our sponsors, and more!
The races are organized into a series of heats (or waves) based on age and gender to keep each race competitive and fun for everyone. When you register, you’ll automatically be assigned to the correct heat for your age group.
Each heat has a specific start time, and it’s important to run in the heat you’re assigned to as we cannot guarantee an accurate time or award if you do not run in your assigned heat / wave.
There’s also an Elite Wave that kicks off the event, using an “equalizer” format—women start first, followed shortly by men—and the first person across the finish line wins the top prize.
You can view the full heat schedule and start times here.
Be sure to register on or before 10/16 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt!
As part of the RVA Mile, cash awards are given to area schools to help with their Physical Education programs, and each year, the competition is fierce! Learn more here!
