Join us for the Dahlgren Trail's annual bike event - the Trailblazer! This friendly, community bike ride begins at the trailhead located at 10431 Bloomsbury Road. Google maps doesn't always show the correct location of the trailhead. 10431 Bloomsbury Road can be located using GPS coordinates: 38.26753N 77.29842W
The ride turns around 4 miles later at 9274 Comorn Road and returns to the starting area, for a total of 8 miles. Anyone not wishing to ride this distance can turn around and return to the starting area at any time.
To better serve our community's bike riders, the Friends of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is conducting this event as a fundraiser for the purchase and installation of public bike maintenance stands along the trail. Please consider a donation of $10-$20 along with your event registration. You can also support this effort by ordering a limited edition event shirt through our online store.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail. Sure, these races are held in August. In Virginia. That's the bonus challenge! All runners will receive a tank top or t-shirt (your choice!) and a finisher's medal.
Both race courses are beautiful, scenic out and back courses on a mostly flat, smooth rails to trails course. There are roots and bog boards in sections of the course - use extra caution in these areas.
Cash prizes, great competition, good food, and awesome swag all make this a memorable event. There is a 4-hour time limit for the half marathon and an 8-hour time limit for the 50K - runners and walkers are welcome!

Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail. This is a scenic out and back course on a flat, smooth old railroad bed. Cash prizes, great competition, good food (including the opportunity to roast Krispy Kreme donuts over the campfire!), and awesome swag all make this a memorable event. And because we understand it can be a bit chilly in January ;) we will be starting the race at 9:00 am to let it warm up and let you get a little more sleep.
All finishers receive a custom race medal! The t-shirt deadline is January 1st. If you miss the deadline, you may still be able to get the size you'd like! We enter inventory into the website, so if you see your size available, you're good to go!
The time limit for the race is 3.5 hours - around 16 minute/mile pace.
