Registration opens in October 2025
RRRC's Bear Creek 10 Mile Trail Run remains the main event. The challenging loop course passes through the piedmont hills of Cumberland State Forest and Bear Creek Lake State Park.
For 2026, the Mini loop course offers an easier to consume, but still challenging, 4.2-mile option run on a sweet combination of park trails, Willis River Trail single track, and Cumberland Multi-use Trail.
Both races start and end at Bear Creek Lake State Park in Cumberland, Virginia (about 45 minutes west of Richmond). These are in-person races with total registration capped at 275 runners/hikers (200 for 10 Mile Run and 75 for Mini Run). There is a virtual race option.
Richmond Road Runners Club will donate $1.00 of each runner's registration fee to the Friends of Bear Creek Lake State Park -- the citizen volunteers from Virginia’s Central Piedmont region who enjoy supporting the park’s mission and operation.
Want to stay in a cabin Saturday night. Reserve early by calling the Virginia State Parks Customer Service Center at (800) 933-7275.

We are excited to be back for our 12th race! Our 5K runs are mission and family focused. We can't wait to see familiar faces, along with many new faces on April 4, 2026. We are back with the start line in the Village of Cartersville. Proceeds from this year's race will benefit missions of Cartersville Baptist Church--our youth group and missionaries.
This year not only will we have our traditional 5K race through our beautiful quaint village of Cartersville, but we will feature a kids fun run!! The Kids Run is for 10 years old and younger. Participants in this age group can register to do both the kids mile run and 5K, but must register for both to place in either race.
