It's back!
Women of all ages* are invited to participate in the Charlottesville Track Club (CTC) Women's Four Miler Training Program.
For the second year in a row, this program is proudly presented
by Women in Motion Physical Therapy and Wellness and sponsored by CTC and Women in Motion. Women in Motion is a specialty rehab clinic that provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, and IBCLC lactation services. They have specializations in orthopedics, obstetrics, pelvic health, oncology, and breast health, treating all genders through all phases of life. In addition to sponsoring the Women's Four Miler training program, they are also actively involved in national post-professional education and medical mission trips and are committed to doing monthly community outreach in central Virginia!
The Women in Motion team is honored to lead this training program on a volunteer basis, with 100% of the net proceeds from registration going to the UVA Breast Care Center!
Join us for six consecutive Saturdays - from July 18th to August 22nd - of group training and talks by experts on a variety of women's health topics.
In order to keep the program manageable and enjoyable for everyone, we will be limiting it to the first 75 registrants. However, we would be happy to make the weekly training plans available to anyone interested in a virtual training program. If the in-person version is full, you will be redirected to the virtual. You may also opt-in to the virtual program if that's your preference. Details will be sent to all participants via email.
Program goals include:
providing a professionally designed training program tailored to your goals and experience
building a sense of community among both participants and volunteers
empowering new runners and walkers
helping you safely transition back into running/walking after time away
exposing you to information on women's health issues
answering any general questions you have about running/walking four miles, as well as specific questions about the Women's Four Miler
getting you to the Women's Four Miler starting line on September 5th feeling healthy and confident.
You may attend any or all sessions. Walkers and runners of any level are welcome. No experience necessary!
*Children aged 14 and under are welcome but must train together with an adult.

Race benefits Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue. Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue that provides rescue and sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. After they are rescued, our
animals receive all the love and care they need and when they are ready, they are placed in loving adoptive homes. Animals who are not able to be adopted are provided lifelong care at our sanctuary. We have been saving animals since 2002 but recently relocated from Southern California to Louisa, Virginia. Our rescued dogs, cats, horses and farm animals are loving their beautiful new sanctuary in Virginia. As we continue to build new fencing and shelters, we hope to help many more animals who need a second chance.

Hosted at Pleasants Landing Marina at Lake Anna, this race and venue are amazing. The time trial swim takes place in the southeast portion of Lake Anna, about 1/4 mile from where the “hot side” of
Lake Anna empties into the cold side, resulting in water temperatures that are 4-6 degree’s warmer than the rest of the lake at this time of year. So, you can look forward to above average water temperatures in mid-October. The last open water race of the regular season Olympic starts at 9AM and the Sprint starts at 9:30AM, so you can sleep in a little and make it a day at the lake with family and friends. The race site and finish line are surrounded by water and have a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the West; it’s a great place to spend the weekend outside. Watch the race video and register below!
