    Where should I park?

On race day, half marathon runners can park in the Zions Bank parking structure off of 100 N. University Ave. or in the parking lots and garages for the Utah County Government buildings on 100 S and 200 S. You can also possibly park in the Nuskin parking terrace. Parking lots are also available to the west of the Post Office on Freedom Blvd. and 100 S. Do NOT park in the Post Office parking lot as they will tow your car. There is also plenty of street parking, however, please do NOT park along the west side of University Ave. as that is where you will be running! 5k runners will want to park near the 5k start line located at 3300 N. University Ave., Provo (by Jamestown Square). There will be a bus at the finish line to shuttle 5k runners back to their vehicles.

Are there any post-race medical attention/massage therapy and locations?

There will be medical support to cover minor medical issues at the Finish Line Compound and at most aid stations along the course. Each aid station will have communication with emergency medical services. We do our best to provide massage therapists at the Finish Line Compound to help relax & loosen up tight muscles. We are always on the lookout for companies/schools/businesses that provide this service to get in touch with us so we can partner with them at our events.

What kind of food/drinks are at the finish line?

Post-race refreshments and food will be available as permitted via state and local health requirements. Basically, we’ll have as much as we are allowed. The post-race festival will include a multitude of food options in close proximity to the finish line.

Will portable bathrooms be on the course?

Yes, at the Start and Finish Line Compound. The half marathon course will also have portable bathrooms located approximately every 3 miles along the course.

Can I run the courses without registering?

No. All runners without a Provo City Half Marathon or 5k bib will be directed off the course immediately.

Am I allowed to use my Portable Music Device during the race?

    Yes!

Are there Timing Chips & Race Numbers?

All official entrants will receive a numbered bib with the timing chip attached to the bib. That’s right, no more putting them on your shoelaces or being held up at the finish line to wait for it to get clipped!! Just secure your runner bib and you are good to go!

If I get injured or for any other reason can’t run after I have registered, can I have my money refunded or can I change categories?

Once your registration has been accepted all fees are non-refundable, however, you have some options. You may transfer or “sell” your entry to another runner, you can transfer yourself to another Run13 event if you do so by deadone – both for a transfer fee. If the price of registration has increased since the time you purchased it, the new runner will be required to pay that difference. If you decide to change categories or transfer your registration to another Run13 event at a higher price you must pay the difference in the registration price plus the transfer fee. If you change categories or transfer to a Run13 event of a lower price you will not receive a refund for the price difference and must still pay the transfer fee.

Run13 is not responsible for the pricing you choose to sell your registration.

The best place is at the Start and Finish Line Compound. Also, have your family check out the interactive course maps online and they may find a great place to cheer you on.

Where do I get my timing chip?

At pre-race packet pickup or the morning of the race.

What happens if there is bad weather?

A little rain won’t stop this race! However, if there are major weather warnings prior to the event, check the home page for updates and watch for an email.

In the event that severe weather does threaten the event, we have prepared some weather cancellation policies and guidelines. Runners’ safety is the most important thing and if any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled. When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, race officials maintain the right to cancel the event. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or the post-event festival to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. Such conditions fall under the label “Acts of God,” and will not result in refunding of any race entry fees or future event credits.

The race may be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Lightning Threat, Lightning Storm, Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, “Heavy” Rain, other major weather condition.

The start of the event may be delayed one hour from the posted start time if any of the above-mentioned conditions exist. The event may then be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, or Thunderstorm.

The Race Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If safety conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can or will be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day.

In the event of cancellation, we will still make arrangements for all runners to receive their race medal, shirt, etc.

If the Event is canceled more than 24 hours prior to the start time: We will notify all participants by email. If the Event is canceled less than 24 hours before the start time: We will notify all participants by email. If the Event is canceled during the actual event, on-site notification will be posted.

Will there be a Finish line party?

Yes, it’s called the Provo City Finish Line Party!! We will have amazing food, bounce houses, and face painting for kids. Please feel free to bring blankets and chairs to relax on at the finish line while cheering on your fellow runners!

    Reverse-order Sprint Triathlon

What I love about this race:

Who can say they finished a triathlon with a ride down a 300-foot long waterslide?! Those who sign up for this race can! We love this reverse-order triathlon, a perfect race for first-time triathletes and kids! All racers begin at the same time with a challenging 5k run 100% on asphalt, followed by a 8-mile bike ride, a 300-yard swim (which anyone is welcome to use a lifejacket!), and a run up the ramp to grab a mat and slide down "Avalanche" to the finish line. Not only do you get to participate in a triathlon at a super fun venue, free photos, an awesome finisher medal, and other swag, but participants will also receive two free passes (a $43.98 value) to Splash Summit Water Park to use in 2026 with each individual registration! (passes are emailed out every two weeks while registration is open). We also offer a 12 and under kids super-sprint triathlon that is half as long! We will also be offering a 5K walk/run.

    Saturday 5:30 - 6:30 a.m.

    DISTANCE

    5K run (3.1 miles), 8-mile bike ride, 300-yard swim, 300-foot waterslide finish

KID'S TRI DISTANCE: 1.5 mile run, 4-mile bike, 150-yard swim, 300-foot waterslide finish

    RACE START

All racers will begin at the starting line for the run, with the gun starting at 7:00 a.m. After running for 3.1 miles, racers will then transition within the park and exit on their bikes. Following a two-loop, 8-mile bike ride, racers will come back into the transition area, leave their bikes, run up the sidewalk to the wave pool, and jump into the pool for 300 yards to swim, and then run up the ramp to finish on "Avalanche", a 300-foot waterslide to the finish line.

    KID'S TRIATHLON

New to the race this year - our half-sprint-distance triathlon is for those 7-12 years old who would like to also run in the race! Instead of two laps on the run and two laps on the bike, the kid's triathlon is one lap of each, and half the distance in the pool! The kid's tri will start after the sprint tri runners finish their first loop so the kids aren't running and biking alone. If parents want to race alongside their kids, they must purchase a kid's triathlon registration as well, and won't be in the running for awards.

    TRIATHLON AWARDS

All triathlon participants will be given an awesome, super-soft t-shirt, race bib, sweet finisher medal, two free tickets to Splash Summit 2026 season, and sponsor swag.
