Welcome to the 3rd Annual Butterfly Run!
Whether you’re here because you know and love Her Well Center, or you simply came out to enjoy a beautiful morning while supporting a meaningful cause, we are truly grateful you’re here.
Check-in opens at 7:00 a.m., and the race will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m.
Who We Are
For those who may not be familiar with us, Her Well Center is a faith-based crisis center serving survivors of sexual trauma and intimate partner violence, as well as their families. We walk alongside ALL survivors as they reclaim their hope, regain their voice, and resist isolation.
Our mission is simple yet powerful:
No survivor walks alone.
We live this out by providing trauma-informed therapy, crisis advocacy, case management, and spiritual care so survivors can experience true hope, healing, and restoration. In just three years, Her Well has had the honor of walking alongside more than 100 survivors in their healing journeys. Seeing all of you gathered here today is a powerful reminder that this community is rising up together to say:
You are not alone.
Why the Butterfly Run?
We call this event the Butterfly Run because healing is a process, a transformation.
At Her Well, we guide survivors through what we call The Butterfly Journey:
Caterpillar Stage – Survivors begin rebuilding and growing, supported by case managers who check in twice each month.
Chrysalis Stage – Deep internal healing takes place through specialized trauma therapies, including EMDR, ART, Neurofeedback, and Equine EMDR.
Butterfly Stage – After 12 months of courageous work, survivors graduate by releasing their butterfly — symbolizing freedom, hope, and life after trauma.
Butterfly Release
Each butterfly represents hope, healing, and freedom. If you would like to participate in this special moment, butterflies are available this morning for $15. Please join us at 7:20 a.m. for the release. It is a beautiful way to honor a survivor, remember a loved one, or celebrate the power of transformation.

Matthew, a brave young boy who lost his life at just 9 years old after a valiant fight against leukemia. Throughout his battles, Matthew exemplified incredible resilience and positivity. He continued to attend school, play, and bring joy to those around him with his humor and determination. His unwavering spirit and courage are the driving forces behind Miles 4 Matthew.
Matthew's parents and friends established Miles 4 Matthew to offer financial assistance to families facing pediatric cancer while raising awareness and fostering a positive mindset. Matthew, initially diagnosed with ALL at age 4, beat cancer but faced a rare relapse in 2022. Despite his struggles, he remained upbeat and determined. His story inspires us to support others and continue his legacy.
We invite you to join us for the Miles 4 Matthew 5K taking place on Saturday, October 18th at No Label Brewing Co. With both a 5K & 1K there is something for the whole family to enjoy!
