Welcome to the Houston Roast Run & Comedy Show, where endurance meets embarrassment and punchlines come with a side of lactic acid.

This one-of-a-kind event features a 5K(ish) on the scenic Buffalo Bayou Trails… but with a twist. Along the course, you’ll be heckled (err, motivated) by professional comedians stationed throughout the route, armed with microphones and zero chill. They’ll be roasting your stride, your outfit, and probably your life choices, all in good fun. (Mostly.)

After you've limped through the finish line and rebuilt your ego, stick around for a post-race comedy show featuring three of Houston’s top comedians. Prefer to skip the cardio and go straight to the comedy? You can do that too—comedy show-only tickets are available.

Legacy of Courage Half Marathon: Honoring Our Heroes

As Memorial Day approaches this May, join us in making a difference for our nation’s heroes by participating in the Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. All proceeds from this inspiring event will benefit The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program (The ODV), through Knowledge Point Network. This is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to honor and support disabled veterans by helping them reconnect with the healing power of nature in a community that understands their struggles.

Veterans with physical injuries and those with invisible wounds of war come together through KPN to find healing, support, and camaraderie. The ODV’s programs center around outdoor adventures and therapeutic activities, empowering veterans to overcome challenges and rediscover their independence.

Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation will directly contribute to a cause that changes lives. Together, we can give back to those who’ve given so much for our freedom.

    Race Distances:

The Legacy of Courage Half Marathon offers race distances for participants of all levels:

    • 1 Mile

    The Ruck Event:

For the overachievers, both the 5K and Quarter Marathon will offer a Ruck Event—an exciting challenge for participants who want to add a little more weight and intensity to their race. This event is a perfect way to push yourself while supporting our veterans!

Race Location: Russ Poppe Family Park

This versatile park offers the perfect setting for our Legacy of Courage Half Marathon. The park’s blend of natural beauty, recreation, and accessibility creates an inspiring backdrop for participants of all ages and abilities.

Runners and walkers will enjoy Russ Poppe Family Park more than eight miles of well-maintained hiking trails, which meander through dense woodlands beneath a canopy of majestic pine trees. These serene trails, set apart from the busier sections of the park, offer a peaceful atmosphere for the event. Along the way, participants can take in the scenic beauty of the park’s seven-acre stocked fishing lake, an observation deck, and an elevated boardwalk.

    Event Features:

The event will also feature vendors on-site, offering a variety of products and services for participants and spectators. After crossing the finish line, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments to recharge.

The race will be produced and hosted by Bigfoot Running Company, ensuring an exciting and well-organized event filled with all the fun and energy that come with a Bigfoot event. Expect a lively atmosphere and plenty of support throughout your race.

Whether you’re racing to honor a veteran or cheering from the sidelines, Burroughs Park provides an inviting and inspiring environment for all who attend. Join us in this picturesque setting to support The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program and help us continue our mission to make the dreams of our nation’s heroes a reality. Together, we can show our gratitude and make a lasting difference in their lives.
