Here is a quick rundown on the 16-week upcoming Marathon Course Preview Runs.
The main idea is to give all the runners a fantastic opportunity to really get to know the marathon route. We want them to feel totally comfortable and confident on race day, without any surprises along the way.
An amazing team of ambassadors will be leading these runs. They're going to be guiding everyone, making sure it's a great experience for all. Each weekend, we'll be starting from different spots across El Paso, which means by the end of the series, people will have explored pretty much every segment of the official course.
We'll be sure to post all the specifics – like where to meet, the exact route for the week, and how far everyone will be running. It’s really important for everyone to keep an eye on those updates so they're always in the loop.
Each weekly session will have various distance options, so whether someone's just getting into longer runs or aiming for a new personal best, they can choose what feels right for them.
Registration is super straightforward – just one quick sign-up covers the entire 16-week series! No need to register multiple times; once they're in, they're set for the whole season. Before every run, we ask that ALL runners check in.
Of course, safety is always our top priority. We'll be reminding everyone to be super careful out there: follow all traffic laws, stick to sidewalks whenever possible, and always obey traffic signals. A little collective effort on safety will ensure everyone has an awesome time!
6:45 am - Gather, check in, dynamic stretching, and course and safety instructions.
7:00 am - Start (sharp!)

About the Races
In 2026, the El Paso Marathon races will return to our roots when we once again finish in Downtown, just as the marathon did for our first race in 2007.
Finishing downtown not only gives runners and spectators alike a chance to enjoy the historic center of the city, it lets runners finish on a net decline, which helps them with their finish time and improves their chances to qualify for the 2026 Boston Marathon or the 2026 Abbott WMM MTT Age Group Marathon World Championships.
The Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon is a qualifier for both the Boston and the Abbott Age Group Championship marathons. Many El Paso Marathon overall winners and age group winners have gone on to compete in those races.
Held on the same day as the Raiz Federal Credit Union Half Marathon and the Spine & Rehab Specialists 5K, the marathon and its associated races have attracted runners from nearly every state in the United States and from countries as varied as Mexico, Norway, Liberia, and Germany.

IDEA Public School's Healthy Kids Here program recognizes that the roots of academic success for our students run far deeper than classroom learning alone. IDEA started Healthy Kids Here seven years ago with the goal of becoming the healthiest district in the country. As part of our mission to become the Healthiest District in America, IDEA Public Schools hosts the 5th Annual Healthy Kids Here 5K Run | 1K Walk & Healthy Living Expo to engage the El Paso community in a family-friendly and educational opportunity which encourages families to be active.
Frankie Gray, executive director for IDEA El Paso Public Schools says, “IDEA believes that in order for students to get to and through college and beyond, they also need a foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to maintain their health. Hybiit ENDUROX Race.
What is ENDUROX?
El Paso is bringing a hybrid endurance race that combines sustained running with high intensity functional fitness challenges. Athletes alternate between running intervals and functional stations that test strength, power, stamina, and mental resilience, requiring them to maintain performance under fatigue. Endurox emphasizes all around fitness endurance, strength, and grit within a competitive race format.
A full race day experience built around around energy, competition, and community. Athletes launch from starting arch wearing bibs with love timing, push through the course with Hydration stations to keep them moving, and watch the action unfold on a live leaderboard. With a DJ setting the tone, vendors, and food trucks on site, and a results zone to check scores.
To get ready, you’ll need more than miles on the road.

ABOUT COACH ARCHIE DURAN MEMORIAL FUND
The Coach Archie Durán Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization created and established in 2018 to celebrate and honor our beloved coach, father, brother, son, and husband Archie Durán, who died in a bus accident bringing his Irvin High girls track team home from a track meet in Lubbock. On 6 Jun 1944 US Army Rangers of the 2nd Ranger Battalion led by Lieutenant Colonel James E. Rudder scaled the 90-foot cliffs of Point du Hoc under heavy machine gun fire. Meanwhile, the 1st and 5th Ranger Battalions landed at Omaha Beacn, where intense resistance intitally pinned down the assault; Brigadier General Norman Cota famously urged them forward with the line "Rangers, lead the way!" Despite suffering heavy casualties, the Rangers siezed their objectives and established a foothold, which would lead to the eventual liberation of Europe from Nazi occupation, and victory over Hitler's Third Reich. And in every conflict since that day, the Rangers have lived the motto coined in battle: RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
The D-Day Dash honors that legacy.
The D-Day Dash is part of the Ranger Memorial Triad. Runners who run all three races in a year will receive a free triad T-shirt and medal. If you missed Roger's Ranger Run in March, it's not too late. You can sign up for the remote (virtual) race, send in your results, and still receive credit!
The D-Day Dash 10K begins at 8 am on 6 Jun 2026 and is an out-and-back race on a paved trail.
The D-Day Dash 5K begins at 8:15 am on 6 Jun 2026 and is an out-and-back race on a paved trail.
The D-Day Dash Children's 1 mile Fun Run begins tentatively at 9:15 am on 6 Jun 2026 and is an out-and-back race on a paved trail.
The timing is designed to allow parents to run in another race and also assist their children in running the fun run; therefore the fun run will not begin until all parents have completed the other races. (Parents do not need to register for the children's fun run to run with or pace their children, unless they want a shirt and finishers medal).
All races begin at Ascarate Park. Enter the park and follow instructions for parking.
Packet pick-up is from 5:30-8:30 pm on 5 Jun 2026 at 3625 Douglas Ave, El Paso, TX 79903.
Same-day registration and same-day packet pick-up will be at 6:30-7:45 am 6 Jun 2026 at Ascarate Park.
All 5K/10K racers will receive a T-shirt and a finishers' medal (sizes not guaranteed after 30 May 2026).

It’s the perfect way for young athletes to challenge themselves, experience multisport racing, and feel the thrill of crossing the finish line under the lights. Whether they’re brand‑new to racing or already love being active, our Eagle Kids Splash and Dash is all about fun, safety, and celebrating every child’s effort.

On 3–4 Oct 1993 U.S. Army Rangers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, as part of Task Force Ranger, fast-roped into the city of Mogadishu, Somalia to capture key lieutenants of warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. What began as a short raid quickly escalated when Somali militia shot down two Black Hawk helicopters with RPGs. Rangers fought through intense urban combat, securing the target buildings, defending the crash sites, and protecting wounded comrades while surrounded by determined enemy forces throughout the night. Despite heavy casualties and relentless attacks, the Rangers held their ground until a relief column fought its way into the city, after which many Rangers ran under fire to reach the armored vehicles in what became known as the Mogadishu Mile. Their courage and sacrifice in one of the most intense urban battles in modern U.S. military history demonstrated the same warrior spirit that defines the Rangers today: RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
The Mogadishu Mile Run honors that legacy.
The Mogadishu Mile is part of the Ranger Memorial Triad. Runners who run all three races in a year will receive a free triad T-shirt and medal. If you missed Roger's Ranger Run in March, it's not too late. You can sign up for the remote (virtual) race, send in your results, and still receive credit!
The Mogadishu Mile 10K begins at 8 am on 14 Mar 2026 and is an out-and-back race on a paved trail.
The Mogadishu Mile 5K begins at 8:15 am on 14 Mar 2026 and is an out-and-back race on a paved trail.
The Mogadishu Children's 1 mile Fun Run begins tentatively at 9:15 am on 14 Mar 2026 and is an out-and-back race on a paved trail.
Packet pick-up is from 5:30-8:30 pm on 2 Oct 2026 at 3625 Douglas Ave, El Paso, TX 79903.
Same-day registration and same-day packet pick-up will be at 6:30-7:45 am 3 Oct 2026 at Ascarate Park.
All 5K/10K racers will receive a T-shirt and a finishers' medal (sizes not guaranteed after 30 May 2026).
