Due to the weather and potential safety concerns, the AJ Howard Memorial 5K has been rescheduled to February 7th. All race-day times will remain the same.

Packet Pickup Information:

Early Packet Pickup: January 22 at Liberty Park from 5:00–7:00 PM

There will be NO packet pickup on Friday, January 23

Second Packet Pickup: February 6 (the day before the race)

Lace up and get ready! The annual AJ Howard Memorial 5K is back and ready for action. Whether you’re walking with friends or racing for the grand finish, you will be a part of celebrating AJ’s memory and supporting the Belton High School Band Program. Participants of all levels are welcome to enjoy a morning filled with encouragement, good vibes, and community spirit.

This year, there will be food trucks, FREE Black Rifle Coffee, and bib drawings for all registered runners! Sign up now to secure a race T-shirt, loaded swag bag, and a shot at winning incredible prizes.

This race will offer an In-Person 5K* and a Sleep-In 5K ...(for those wishing to support but are unable to run or just wish to stay home).

Registrants age 18 & under will receive a reduced price...this will appear as you register.

The AJ Howard Memorial Fund was established in May of 2016. AJ was tragically taken from his family in an auto accident. In lieu of flowers at his memorial service, AJ’s mother asked that any money be donated to the Belton High School Marching Band (M100) to help pay the band fees for those students who would benefit from the support of available funds. These donations covered the cost of equipment, uniforms, instruments & private lesson fees for many M100 band members, making it possible for all M100 members to have what they need to not only participate, but also excel in band.

The Belton Band Boosters continues to honor AJ’s memory through the AJ Howard Scholarship Fund, providing financial assistance to band students in need. Every dollar made from the Annual 5K goes directly to students from Belton High School, Belton Middle School, and South Belton Middle School to help cover the cost of uniforms, instruments, and private lessons. AJ had a servant's heart and was well loved by his fellow band members. He will not be forgotten. Through the AJ Howard Scholarship Fund his spirit of generosity lives on and will continue to impact the lives of M100 members for many years to come.

*The In-Person 5K is part of the Cen-Tex Race Series. All participants will earn Cen-Tex Race Series points. Awards to the top overall male and female finishers, and the top three male and female finishers per age group. Age groups: 11&U, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 & 70+.

The fourth annual 2026 Powered By You 5K, funded in part by the Elizabeth and Drayton McLane Jr. Chair in Health and Wellness, will bring education and awareness to the importance of keeping our communities healthy.

Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

High School: We also welcome our High School runners! Our high school students will be running a 2 mile race.

Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

2nd Annual MAKE HIM KNOWN: Glow 5K and Fun Run

Hosted by Global Outreach at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor

Get ready to light up the night at the 2nd Annual MAKE HIM KNOWN Glow 5K and Fun Run in April 2026, with check-in starting at 6:30 PM, hosted by the Global Outreach Office at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB).

This one-of-a-kind race invites participants to run, walk, or jog in a dazzling display of neon colors and glowing gear — all while supporting Global Outreach’s mission trips, including both service-based and medical missions around the world.

Whether you're an experienced runner or just looking for a fun and unique way to spend your evening, this event is for you! Join us for an unforgettable race that’s sure to glow with excitement. This fundraising event is a manually timed race, and early finishers may qualify for additional raffle prizes. Participants are encouraged to track their own time, enjoy the experience, and embrace the camaraderie of the evening.

The 1K Fun Run, starting at 7:30 PM, is a shorter, family-friendly race where kids can join in on the glowing fun before the 5K begins. It’s the perfect way for young participants and families to be part of the action.

Why We Race:

The MAKE HIM KNOWN Glow 5K and Fun Run isn’t just about glowing gear — it’s about going and giving. All proceeds from this event will support Global Outreach mission trips, enabling UMHB students to serve communities in need around the world through acts of service, education, and medical care.

The Belton Lions Club serves the Central Texas area through charitable and educational purposes. Belton Lions Club provides: Scholarships for children in the Belton area who qualify for Texas Lions Camp for children who are physically disabled, hearing/vision impaired or diabetic; Eye examinations and glasses for children in Belton I.S.D.; Two Annual College scholarships for Belton High School Graduating Seniors; Lions Pavilion and Playground for Children with Special Needs at Heritage Park; Support to families of Children with Special Needs for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas; Partnering with Belton I.S.D. for their HEARTBEAT Angel Program; hosting Pictures with Santa for the Special Needs Community. The Club is a dynamic group of individuals committed to making Belton a better place to work and live.

Event details and schedule

The ride will begin 8:00am Harris Community Center, 401 North Alexander Street, Belton and will travel along the bike trails and roads of the Bell County countryside. Distances will be: 12 Miles (1 rest stop), 30 Miles (3 rest stops), 55 Miles and 62 Miles (5 rest stops). All routes will finish along Belton's Hike and Bike Trail beside Nolan Creek. The event will be held rain or shine. No refunds. Register through Active.com. Online & Mail-in Registration opens: February 1.

King of the Mountain Cyclery (KOM) is the Official Bike Shop for the ride. SAG will be provided by KOM - who will do their best to keep you pedaling; and they will also be at Rest Stop One; and throughout the Ride - at your Service. KOM/Belton Lions Club has created and provided a STRAVA link for each of the ride routes.

Morning juice, fruit and snacks will be provided prior to the Ride. Snacks and Nutrition will be available at each Rest Stop. When you return, a free hot dog lunch will be available from Lions and served by Eldred's Nursery Foundation trainees; plus - the Belton High School Special Needs Department students will have snow cones available.

Registration: $40 pp Early Bird by April 17 / $45 pp by May 7 / $50 pp Ride Day

Register by April 18 and receive a free EVENT t-shirt - limited quantities and sizes after that date.

Belton's own obstacle course race hosted by ASCO Equipment (Belton) and co-hosted by TBA! 20+ obstacles which include mud pit, slip n slide,15 ft cargo net climb, ice bath and more!! ALL AGES AND FITNESS LEVELS are invited to get down and dirty for approximately 2.5 miles, in and along Nolan Creek! Join us and conquer this course as we DONATE ALL PROCEEDS TO a chosen non profit charity.
