Get ready to start your day with the eighth annual Close the Loop 5K!
Join us in Houston, Texas on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 a.m. CST, as we embark on a morning run/walk during PSTM26. Lace-up your sneakers and join plastic surgeons, patients, office staff, and supporters from across the globe as we come together to raise awareness and funds for breast reconstruction, charitable care and groundbreaking research.
Registration for the Close the Loop 5K will open on May 20, 2026.
As the sun rises, the excitement begins! Starting at 7 a.m., the #BRA5K will take place. Whether you're running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation fuels the Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Campaign of The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF), empowering us to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
Breast cancer is a devastating disease, affecting approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States. Breast reconstruction is a very personal choice — every woman should have access to her options before she has to make a decision. Profits generated are awarded to organizations focused on awareness and assistance efforts of women fighting breast cancer or pursuing breast reconstructive surgery. Thanks to YOU, The Plastic Surgery Foundation's BRA Program has allocated 188 grants, totaling over $2 million in awards.
Mark your calendars, gather your gear, and join us for an unforgettable morning. See you at this year’s race!
Run, Walk, Cheer or Donate!
Whether you're running, walking, cheering from the sidelines (or the couch!), or donating, your support is invaluable! Join us for our 5K for Breast Reconstruction Awareness and help us empower individuals impacted by breast cancer to reclaim their bodies and their lives after breast cancer. Register as an individual, join a team (no limit on team size!), or become a team captain.
Not a runner? No problem! Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.
Support our cause today and help us spread awareness, one step (or dollar!) at a time!
Help Us Close The Loop: Refer Friends & Earn a Refund!
Want to make an even bigger impact at the Close The Loop 5k for Breast Reconstruction Awareness? It's simple: invite your friends, family, and colleagues to join you!
This year, we're excited to offer referral rewards! Share your unique referral code, and when five people register using your code, you'll receive a $40 refund on your registration fee! That's right, running for a cause can actually save you money!
Help us spread awareness, build an even stronger community, and reach our fundraising goals. The more, the merrier (and the more funds raised for Breast Reconstruction Awareness)!
Share your referral code today and let's Close The Loop together!
UPDATE: At this year’s event, runners will be required to wait until the light changes to cross the intersection with Poydras St. Staff and volunteers will be course markers. This race is being treated as a fun run, and there are no street closures.
Grab your girl friends or daughters, bring the family and plan for a great weekend at the beach.
This is our fourth year for the Beach Girl Triathlon and we have moved it back to the Seaside Resort, in Galveston on Saturday, October 17th. The swim is a 200 meter pool swim followed by a 8 mile bike and a 2 mile beach run in on the Holiday Inn property. Enjoy a great after party with beverages, great music, food, and more. This property offers something for everyone; beach, pool, games for the kids, and more. Holiday Inn will also offer rooms at a special rate; link to be sent out soon.
All athletes receive a shirt, medal, and more.

US Road Running
The Toughest 10K Galveston, the second race in the Texas Bridge Series, offers runners the unique experience of crossing a true engineering marvel - the iconic Galveston Causeway. Starting at the Galveston County Daily News offices, participants head northbound over the historic bridge, loop around at Tiki Island, and return via the same impressive structure. While most of the course features the characteristic flat terrain of southeast Texas, runners face an exciting challenge: conquering the 72-foot tall causeway with its demanding 3.5% grade, both on the way out and back.
