ITINERARY
JUNE 11
Following a brief tour of Wind Cave the day rolls largely on gravel roads heading north visiting the Custer State Park wildlife refuge, passing by Crazy Horse Monument, and an optional climb up to the Mt Coolidge Fire tower. It is a day that is hard to beat with a base route of 55 miles with additional spurs available. (Shorter Rides are available)
JUNE 12
If yesterdays ride was hard to beat, this day is the crown jewel. Starting out amongst granite cathedrals on the Needles Parkway, then rolling up to the famed Mount Rushmore, and wrapping up the day catching a sight of an 1800's steam engine rolling by. This day combines touristy gawking with cycling bliss.
JUNE 13
Not to be outdone, the namesake of the ride is day 3. A visit to the Badlands. Some riders will want the full 90 mile experience rolling from the river basin into the Badlands. Others will choose for a shorter 40 mile day rolling around badlands national park. Either way everybody will end the day with a trip to the famed Wall Drug for their "free ice water."
JUNE 14
Is your optional ride day. The FAST Endurance team will support a 25, 50, and 75 mile gravel courses throughout the morning. The day will conclude with a rolling sweep to ensure that all riders are back to the hotel by 2pm for the end of camp.

Step back in time on the George S. Mickelson Trail.
The trail was originally the Burlington Northern line that carried trains from Edgemont to the northern Black Hills and the gold mines of the Deadwood area. The line began in Deadwood in 1888, and in within ten months the route to Edgemont was complete. (It was abandoned in 1983.) In the early 90’s, a group of outdoor enthusiasts recognized the trail's potential, and with the support of Governor George Mickelson, it became the state's first rails to trails project.
