Whether you’re an experienced mountain biker or new to the sport, we’ve got a race you will find enjoyable and challenging. Many are familiar with triathlons competed on paved roads; however, fewer athletes have challenged themselves with an off-road duathlon.
The transition area will be set up in the grassy field near the main park office. You’ll start and finish each leg of the duathlon from here.
The first leg will be a 5k trail run that will wind through the trails going to the boat ramp. The trails are wide single track and should be a pleasant trail run. You’ll circle back to the transition area and get your bike for the second leg.
The bike leg will enter the trail system from the beach to the left/east of the main office. Your ride will take you along the water's edge and through the woods over towards the camping area and Persimmon Beach. You’ll do several loops in the woods before returning to the transition area for the third and final leg of the race.
The third leg will be a 2.5k trail that will wind through the trails going towards the boat ramp. You’ll finish near the Park Office.
The trails at Sadlers Creek are mostly wide single track and you may compete with either a mountain bike or a gravel bike. There are several whoop-whoops that will be thrilling on a gravel bike yet still "du-able". We hope to see you there.
The cost of this event includes the admission price into the park for the athlete.
We've selected New Foundations Home for Children (New Foundations) in Anderson, SC as the event charity. Please donate to New Foundations on the donation page of the race site. We hope you'll make a contribution to this great cause.
The Youth event is a 1-mile trail run followed by a 3-mile mountain bike ride and ending with a 1-mile run.
Transition and packet pick up open at 8 am and close at 9:45 am.
Adult Race start time is 10:00 am
Youth Race 12:30 pm
