Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. Newport Rhode Races partners with the upcoming Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival to give you a true Spring Newport Experience. Our courses will pass along many of the over 1,200,000 starting to bloom around the City by the Sea. (We'll call it Dash through the Daffodils!)

The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Easton's Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 7:45 a.m. from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:15 am - all from the same beautiful seaside start.

The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

Please respect our native environment - STAY OFF THE DUNES, use trash receptacles, and recycle as much as possible.

Please Note: Newport Rhode Races will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for a race of this size, we cannot offer refunds for any reason. In the event that weather is severe enough to create an unsafe environment for participants, organizers will cancel the event with no refunds issued.

The Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial 5K Walk/Run will take place following a ceremony honoring the 29 Rhode Islander’s killed post 9/11 in the Global War on Terror. The course will run through picturesque Fort Adams State Park and begin and end on the parade field inside the historic Fort. Proceeds from the 5k will support the Memorial and Operation Stand Down Rhode Island, the State’s primary non-profit serving homeless and at-risk veterans.

Registered participants are asked to arrive beginning at 7:30am. A 25-minute ceremony honoring the fallen will begin at 9:00am, followed by the start of the Run/Walk at 10:00 am.

The Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial was launched by OSDRI in 2016. The Memorial depicts over 7,000 boots adorned with flags and name placards representing the lives of the U.S. service members killed in action post-9/11 in the Global War on Terror. The exhibition has been seen by tens of thousands of visitors since its creation. Every fallen service member is included in the Memorial; service members are alphabetized by state, allowing individuals to locate friends, comrades, and loved ones. Tragically, the Memorial continues to grow each year as the Global War on Terror continues.

Every participant will receive 2026 Boots on the Ground for Heroes t-shirt.

For 6 weeks, young athletes across Rhode Island and Massachusetts have been swimming, biking, and running toward this one incredible goal!

This finale event brings together participants from Race4Chase programs across both states to celebrate their hard work, determination, and confidence gained throughout the summer. It’s more than a race, it’s a powerful celebration of youth achievement, healthy living, and community support.

While this event is exclusively for Race4Chase participants and not open to public registration, we need enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a safe, smooth, and unforgettable experience for every child crossing that finish line.
